Very good points - we have a lot of different station styles in the set, and all of them look really good, but Michael has made a single style, and made it completely flexible.

I agree that we need to work on getting the details into the stations already in the set, rather than creating new styles that are in reality, the same kind of thing that we already have.

Well, I might then revise the dutch station again
Any other things I should add to it?

Go crazy, just keep the style, or if you change it, make the style consistant. Over-passes, under-passes, platforms with potted plants in them, billboards, benchs, shelters (Done already), big city stations (Done already). Since most of the big stuff is already done, I just want to see some more variety and depth to them.

Ofcourse, feel free to draw what you want, Im not ordering anyone to do anything, I just think a plan as to what we want to achieve would be good.

Good luck!

I think the old Silverline stations would also fit in your first category.

Say, did you code that Japanese station for the Japanset? It doesn't go in this set I know.

What about making a shelter using sprites from this depot?

I just started to make something, and here's what I made.

Damn sexy that is

However, I have a general request for most of the station.

IRL the station setup is mostly like

Code: Select all

PLATFORM
TRACK
 - free -
TRACK
PLATFORM
PLATFORM
TRACK
- free -
TRACK
PLATFORM
But in TTD, most station have platforms on both side of a single track, which is unrealistic IMO. Passengers get confused and don't know which side to take while leaving the train.

Is there any chance that we can have more stations coded like this?

Hmmm. Kind of odd colors.

Do you mean like this?

Yeah, the colors should be a red or green or even grey, not purple.

But other than that, great!

Suggestion for a station: If time allows, please make a railway museum so you don't have to put special trains in a depot to keep them.

It might be a good idea to have it like this:

Which colour do you prefer?

Company color?

Grey.

Darn, I don't want to make a useless post, but I have nothing more to say.

It kinda reminds me of that mesh they would put over army tents and planes in the jungle

i like those that way, Jezulim. you could indeed even company-colout them.

Its coming along nicely, but I think the roof needs a fair bit more work, and the platforms and supporting beams need more shading.

Progress: Ive started coding the next version, 1.2, from scratch, I will hopefully make a few pre-releases along the way to demonstrate my plans, and hopefully get more artists on-board drawing accessories.

Also, just a sidenote, I dont intend on coding any new station styles atm, unless they fit in with one of the current ones. If the graphics are particularly good I'll make an exception.
