Hmm, the 3-tower version was better IMHO... can you "compress" it for 2x1 tiles?
Posted: 23 Jun 2006 14:51
by graphics_master
I can't compress it because it would look all squashed and towers wont really be that thin.
Edit : You probaly don't know but I am a new recruit of the TTT project so I wont be posting here often but I will still be doing graphics though,

I think you first have to change your name, and maybe later you can use it again.
I have saved some stages how i make a building, its you to figure out how i did it.
The basic thing to become a good artist is drawing and drawing and drawing and ...... ect
I improve my skills with each new building i make.
You have to crawl before you learn to walk.
Have a look at my avatar to.

ok cool thank for the words of enlightment. I will get to work. I think I am getting better I am not completly sure. I would change my name but I will have to make a new account
You gt the base the drawn upwards then for every bit of change you put a new colour then you added the texture then the windows, the doors then you did the shading.

Quite impressive actually...
It only needs some texturing, and perhaps the glass front needs less shading.

I tried to add texture and have now turned down the shading loads.

First: the scale you draw in is way to small, look at my avatar, its the museum of modern art, flore levels has to be 6 px minimal.
Second: your light stands at a wrong position, the glass façade has to be lightened different.
Third: use a greater shading contrast, the left wall is to light.
Fourth: you have to do texture different.
Ill tell you a little secret, i draw my buildings in RGB True Color 24 bit and transfer them later to Indexed 256 Color 8 bit

I didn't know it was soo hard. Well I can do everything else but the textures the bit I can't do.
What does the image conversion do ?

What you need is a good drawing program, like Photoshop, Coraldraw, Ulead Photoimpact ect,
At my example you see i first draw the cilinder form of the building, then my drawing program adds the "noise" (texture)
But i think you think to simpel about drawing buildings, invest half your life time to it and maybe one day you are worthy your name.
I spend at full speed on a good day 12 hours nonstop drawing for one complete building, with 3 construction sites and ground tiles.
This requires a lot of me, the day after i cant draw, i am empty, so do not think, "I can do this with ease" ask other artists and you ll have the same answer.
I do not like the way you have entered this forum, so be humble or this is the last you ll hear of me, i ll help you to make a start, but its you who has to develop your skills.
