i noticed that there was an improvement about nowgrf support, so i can start new tests to learn you (who still doesn't know yet) how newgrf support works...

Yes, pasky is back! And he's very busy developing newgrf support. The long-promised waypoint feature has now made it into the codebase (try out newstatsw.grf) and the support for other trainsets has also greatly improved (DB Set XL should work as well). More improvements are already in the pipeline.

DBsetXL still give errors to me... :(

but pasky has done a good work with the newstationsw.grf support, now, if we can have the permission we could use the industry stations (i saw some examples for The Patch)

i also tried european road set and i noticed that have conflict with the cantiliver bridge that i replaced because i hate the original one, see picture

now i also try the vehicles sets in all their parts, and i have a request for pasky. "PLZ make we (me :) ) happy by adding a control to rotate graphics, some locos, like the one of the tropic set is composed by 3 pieces and we can't rebuild that loco in the right mode without rotate the parts"

Good news, with svn r635 DBSetXL works again and the Japan Set Beta works as well!

The waypoints selection is excellent too!

All buses and trucks from newgrf has invalid information ( ex bus can take 100 coal )

dbxl does not work properly with latest windows nightly (r800b). Trains are invisible in the purchase screen, but when you click on an empty box, you can still see the trains stats and buy it, at which point it appears on purchase (in the depot screen, still not in purchase screen)

my latest nightly is 713b and is claiming to be dated of the 20th nov (despite fact download date is 24th and file date is 24th!)
I'm using the windows build.

I have Toyland2MarsW.grf

I hate Toyland and I thought that they did the TTD players a great dis-service in taking away the "Mars" landscape cos it rocked!!

So obviously, this graphics set just changes Toyland to Mars..

I'm running r1175 at the moment..

In my Openttd.cfg file I have:

Toyland2MarsW.grf
When I load the game, the Title set is in mars and I can't get onto any of the normal sets.

Just letting you know anyway!

edit: loving the bright purple maglev track too ;) not sure if it's meant to be like that or not!!

Strange. In TTD patch it skippes sprites for incorrect lanscape. And why does not it replace buildings and canals?

Newgrf support is unfortunately still far from perfect. But I was thinking about making the Mars lanscape an official additional climate for OpenTTD some day. Unfortunately we have other more pressing issues at the moment. :cry:

I remember that one of my offices doesn't work. It could also be the BRP thats doing it. Try removing them one by one, you know a trial and error dealie.

Wasn't sure whether to post here or in Open Probs, so I flipped a coin. Anyways... Its been posted that the US Set works with OTTD. I've tried this in several combinations and such without any success. It works in that it doesn't crash, but I get none of the trains. Usually I get the standard (?) set with the strange engines (WowWow,etc). Any help?

I'm sorry I've messed patches... But thanks, some stuff doesn't work, need to be coded out

Anyway, long BR trains doesn't look like in the vehicle list (I see just one short half).
Also, new bridges has bad graphics in the bridge list.

Those commented out are mainly because of the sprite number limit (wich pop-ups if you have too many grf's).

Also, I noticed that if I load one more grf (that doesn't causes the sprite number error), like loading elrailsw.grf for example (but not limited to it - I could add elrailsw.grf and remove tempsetpw.grf, for example), sound effects playing becomes corrupted (sound effects are any game sounds but music). It is fixed after removing the extra grf from the config.

Wait - trucks work for you? Did you actually try to load them?

They show up in the game, but they cannot be refited and therfore, can only cary steel.
