I don't think the 2CCTrainsInNML will overwrite other sets, I've used it alongside NARS 2.5 and OpenGFX+ Trains without problems. As far as I know the Termite tracks change the graphics for the existing tracks but doesn't remove any track types, only adds a few more that some of the Iron Horse vehicles require. If you are really concerned about other train sets overwriting original vehicles, you can always load the OpenGFX+ Trains after the other sets, it contains all the standard TTD trains, including the ones contained in the obsolete 2CC set you are using.Baldy's Boss wrote:Some of us love having a really broad palette of potential vehicles.I've downloaded the 2cc-in-NML but not activated it in case it conflicts with the 2cc I have...Haven't done iron Horse /Termite because the Termite doc says it replaces existing tracks and I don't want to lose any.Likewise I know there's an "original TT" vehicle NewGRF but it says it replaces the OpenTTD set,I ujsut want to add the TT vehicles OTTD doesn't have without losing any others. Is there an option for that?
In some cases it does, if multiple GRFs try to overwrite the same game resources, the last one in the list takes preference, usually the readme file for the GRF will say if it needs to be loaded before or after another set for compatabilityBaldy's Boss wrote:So the order in which NewGRFs appear in the active list makes a difference?
The one called "8/32bpp Trains 2CC". It contains a few of the TTD base vehicles in 32bpp, whereas recent versions of OpenGFX+ Trains contain all the base vehicles in 32bppBaldy's Boss wrote:What 2CC set that I'm using is obsolete?
Each of these train sets have broad number of vehicles available. Each of these sets, with exception of TIAS (and Korean set is weak in the cargo trains department), were built so you can have enjoyable game experience with that set alone if you want. When you load all of these sets - 2cc Trains in NML, UKRS2 and its Add-on, Korean Set, TIAS, Finnish Set, Iron Horse, Dutch set, NARS and NUTS - we have over 900 engines/EMU/DMU and over 400 wagons. Even with vehicle expiration turned on, you'll end up with very vast number of vehicles. Sure, you're free to have them loaded. But I personally find it more useful to load 1 set at a time, and get to know each set individually first before start combining them.Baldy's Boss wrote:Some of us love having a really broad palette of potential vehicles.
Eddy's already responded to this part. But you can just try loading them once and see what happens. Nobody's forcing you (but yourself) to play each and every map you create. You can load those sets, create a map starting in year 2500 or something, and see how the finishing picture looks like. Or any other dates you're interested in. If they look like they conflict with each other, then you can unload the set you don't like, and go on. No harm done.Baldy's Boss wrote:I've downloaded the 2cc-in-NML but not activated it in case it conflicts with the 2cc I have...
I repeat myself about trying it first, not judging just from what you read somewhere. I have no idea where you read that these replace the original or whatever. Sure, Iron Horse is meant to replace the sets available by default in OpenTTD. This is no different from NARS 2.03 set you play with.Baldy's Boss wrote:Haven't done iron Horse /Termite because the Termite doc says it replaces existing tracks and I don't want to lose any.
I assume he's read the title here...Sylf wrote:I repeat myself about trying it first, not judging just from what you read somewhere. I have no idea where you read that these replace the original or whatever.
You mean "Eating your tracks" phrase... Oh.andythenorth wrote:I assume he's read the title here...Sylf wrote:I repeat myself about trying it first, not judging just from what you read somewhere. I have no idea where you read that these replace the original or whatever.

Since I have "Original vehicle names" loaded,I still have the Gresley A4 and Collett Pannier and BR 8P even if the Ginzu A4 and Kirby Paul and SH 8P are overwritten.I'd want some sort of fix for anything else deleted by the TT-vehicle or Iron-Horse/Termite sets.Sylf wrote:@Baldy's Boss
My last post wasn't really directed at you. It was a direct response to the screenshot posted by Maddog. But this post is a reply to yours.

kamnet wrote:All of them are fine sets. All of them together, though, is probably entirely too much. Especially in the case of the first three, you're likely going to have near-exact same models or a bunch of trains with nearly identical performance, as those three are all based on historically accurate train engines and wagons. You probably only need one set, maybe two at the most, depending on the purpose you want trains for. For example, are you looking or performance, pure cargo thoroughput, periodic look and feel, etc.
kamnet wrote:The WET rails would be a good reason to use NUTS along with another set, it is definitely unique as long as you don't mind the obvious clash in graphic styles. NUTS is a set that was designed purely for performance first, and second as an gloriously absurd eyecandy set.
