Okay, when you find out make sure you add the info in the wiki as well.

If you have any other question, ask me or Ben.
Thank you! What a relief. Now I can concentrate on the design instead of learning Blender. :) Anyway, I'm sure I read that everything has to be exported to .blend. Has that changed?

I'll PM Ben Robbins and ask for the materials, because I didn't find them.

By the way, I sat here last night and browsed through your work and it looks truly awesome. Are there any sprites and materials for the trees you are using?
I am not using "official" materials  (I think, that is not necessary), I find most my textures here http://www.cgtextures.com/ or in 3ds max materials library and set up according to my requirements.

Here's an update. I've tried it with the official lightning setup and it looks okay, but it takes hell of a time to render so for now, I will post a picture of the mine with my own setup. By the way, will animations be supported?

I forgot to answer your question about animation. Its supported. You should check out George's ECS vectors. Animation is seen when you build an industry (eg: facory , tourist resort) and also during a game (eg: vehicle factory).
Hope this helps you. Also colored mine would look much better...

Will it fit into the landscape well? The borders on the back are on another level.
I think you should either make it larger to make a slope on the backside, or make it lower, with a small hill and an entry for the tracks.

I know what you're saying. I'm aware of the problem. The reason I made it so high is because I because I wanted to get a better level effect. The main building should of course be down in a trench and the mountains should be at about the same level as the surroundings. I will try to edit it so that it looks a bit more realistic. This is one of the hardest parts when modelling, to get a good balance of realism and eye candy.

That last render is stunning. I find it's always best to only render in the final style all the way through so that judgement isn't past on parts that won't be seen for the final render, or vice versa. Also, check if the omni light is using global settings in the general parameters. That speeds things up a bit.

But that image has something really creative to it, very inventive and exciting to look around. Keep going with it!

Having happened to pass a mine on my way to Niimi City, I have to say, that is an impressive imitation of a mine you've made there. Well done!
