Yes, those are correct. This project is only for new graphics. No new code is needed or should be needed, especially as soon as the New Graphics engine is up and running and enough graphics for that are completed, there will be no use for this project anyway.

Erm... estimating the new sprite generating process in this project... it seems not very likely that this project finishes before the new gfx engine comes out, eh? It's just because... then I would better spend my time working on 3D-models instead of this color-limited sprite creation which - in the worst case - perhaps never will be seen in the game.

Yes, it would probably be better to work on the new gfx engine.

Red*Star, your forest could be in game, and total graphic replacement doesn't mean we can't touch any bit of the code.
However, we would appreciate more if you make models for new graphics engine.
By the way, forest has been aleady made for new graphics engine (I've seen one image) lol

Till now I thought both projects would be important. Well, probably a mistake of me.
Ok, I'll finish the forest for 16 bpp and then I will migrate to the 32bpp gfx

. It's in any case more fun with 3D models.
Hmmm... MeusH, I think so or so I've been fed up with forests... *gg* Maybe I start working on something like an office tower then - something like u see in the attachment, which I've already done a long time ago.
Also I think I first start with modeling explicitly for OTTD when the discussion Magic_Pixel started (
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=20) comes to an result, (above all what Alltaken wrote:
currently we are trying to meet all our modeling needs.
we will need some kind of repository for all the objects modeled so we don't lose them though.
),
caus' I'm also using 3DSMax and never got familiar with Blender.

No offence, I mean, you've done some really nice texturing, shading and modelling, but it looks like a certain male organ.

Yeah, it does look like a finger...

Maybe I missed A LOT of post, but almost all 32bpp GFX are buildings. Are the trains finished?

by Red*Star
Yes, most scyscrapers of course have some similarity to a "certain organ"

.
If you want to HRSIS (happy read-something-into-something in a very senseless way, our teachers always called that "interpretation"

) this effect, than you can connect this with the long lasting power of the patriarchate in the last centuries

.
Ok ok, of course you can also omit this. Well, I've also noticed that "it looks like ..."

. If I texture it with a (blue looking) glass fassade texture, then maybe it no longer "looks like ..."

Nice penis tower!
Especially the roof, I like the empirestatebuilding types of roof.
I hope that you (Red*Star) become a great 32bit artist!

(for OTTD ofcourse.

Good evening.
*rolleyes*
Ok... I hope that this won't become my repute... "the one, who creates penis-like-towers"
If you like it, here is some other (different kind of) work from me. From the following list it may be possible to integrate the DB BR216 diesel engine into this project... well, only if the graphical staff agrees and if it fits into the new OTTD gfx look & feel (I've not tested that):
http://people.freenet.de/redboards/temp ... /index.htm
(warning, probably long loading time)
But now, before somebody gets angry, I'll stop posting off-topic

(this is the 16bpp gfx section, isn't it?

) . I have anyway to do quantum mechanics exercises for Wednesday.

*Uff*... So maybe I have prevented that with the "..."-repute.
@Mr.X:

Thank you. You have to know that I drawed since I could hold a pencil (resp. crayon - I have still dozens of papers from my childhood, especially since 1989), although my first results didn't look so good as now

. It's just also a question of practice

I can make nice drawings too, (not especially for TT) but more a bit of paint and photoshop!

Red*Star wrote:Till now I thought both projects would be important. Well, probably a mistake of me.
actually i think they both are.
the thing is a total graphics replcaement can be done rather easily, as all it requires is to swap out indvidual sprites with new ones. it requires no new GFX format, no new things at all.
so yes i do think it is important, however i personally felt 32bpp was more likely to last longer so chose to push that. but i think the replacement should be done.
the problem that the replacement has, is none of the replaced objects are being put into the game, it should IMO be a piece by piece checklist being created to watch all the GFX being ticked off and iplimented as they go, one by one.
this way it would be usefull now, as well as when its done.

@Mr. X: Yeah, Photoshop is cool. (I've done the forest with PS

.
@Alltaken: Really? Erm... that don't makes my decision whether to switch to 32bpp or creating more 16bpp stuff not easier
Uhmmm... *thinkingoverit* ... maybe, if both projects are forced, I do work for both. However, not yet

- I still have a lot of another work to do

Well, just a couple of transformed boxes and some boolean compounds - I made more fanciful stuff

.
Nevertheless: I'm happy if you like it. If you wanna see more - I've still "some" more meshes up my sleeve

.
