2All: What to do with cut version of the buses now? I do not plan to realise the LV4 cut version. The only thing I can do is to realise the file, that changes graphics, but nothing more.
I just played TTD with LV4, and was about the mention that your naked females are back.

I really want to see the cut version

even if th new cargo file is after or before lv4
Because the old file does not define cargo identifier. The new file will be done later.
goalie wrote:@george your page does not work
do you mean the mirror?
please release the new file soon ill play with touristbusses
Well, There are some problems with them that causes errors, that I can not fix. If you want I can send you the dev version

Works here :? (I mean zernebok's mirror)
Snail wrote:Ok, showing off my two words of French here :P
timber truck = "Camion pour transport de bois"
logger = "Camion pour transport de bois"
What is the difference?
As I understood (I can be wrong) timber truck is a truck, where wood is placed in the special sector (box). It can be on a truck or on a semi-trailer. This box usually has no walls, only the frame that acts like a box for the cargo
Logger is the truck, where the wood stems are placed between two U-portals, located on the truck and on a trailer. That means the line of the trailer and the line of the wood become different while vehicle is turning, because the connection point of the trailer is behind the centre of the truck U-portal . To fix that problem the U-portals are made turning. That makes wood to leave a vehicle sector a bit.
Loggers are usually used in forests while timber trucks are used on roads. Loggers may have special cranes to entruck the wood. But I saw them on timber trucks too

That's a shame, I always used the cut version. What do you mean by the "file that changes graphics"?
I'm not sure because I'm not familiar with GRM yet. I have to make a research and I can't promise to do it fast. I hope I could do a special file that would replace graphics for specific vehicles without changing their props (callbacks act as graphics, so I'm not sure about this solution)

I see. Well, then you can put "Camion pour transport de bois" for timber truck (because I guess it'd be more generic: wood could be in small logs, pieces, etc) and "Camion pour transport de bois en grumes" for the logger (more specific, means "wood log transporter").

Oh, you mean something like this? "Bétonnière". I didn't know your set included some.

Well, then either put KMB, or give us some more info... for instance does it have any peculiarity? like number of doors etc. ...

Yeah, French is a weird language ;)

I see. Well, take your time, there's no rush. However, the cut version really ought to be back.

Cheers!

Batteries Bricks Bubbles Cement Ceramics Cereals Coal Cola Copper ore Cotton Candy Diamonds Dyes Fertiliser Fibre crops Fish Fizzy Drinks Food Fruit Glass Gold Goods Grain Iron ore Lime stone Livestock Mail Maize Oil Oil seeds Paper Passengers Petrol Plastic Potash Refined products Rubber Sand Steel Sugar Sulphur Sweets Toffee Tourists Toys Tropic Wood Valuables Vehicles Water Wheat Wood Wood products Wool

They can have different amount of doors. Let's stay it as is

It may take a while.

You have to wait. I did not find a good solution to do it correct.

George, I found some bugs in names:
Flxible "Clipper"
Ikarbus IK-308 is not available (altough it's in purchase list).
I don't like JIuA3 (then you have to put |/|kap6yc for Ikarbus). I think Liaz is better.
Put GRF in ZIP. Now it's huge file (and very annoying to download to somebody with slow connection  ).

I don't know exactly, probably Flexible (or Fixible?) Flxible is strange (but maybe I'm wrong)

Btw, you can check the new cut version from the development folder.

Actually, those buses are really called "Flxible" as George correctly wrote. Maybe they never sold in Yugoslavia ;)

Sorry, in that case that's my mistake  . I thought it's strange English. I really never have seen them in Serbia/Yugoslavia.

Yeah, it's weird for us Europeans. I don't think Flxible ever sold any bus on this side of the pond...

It looks like LV4 is not up on your site yet? Is it hiding somewhere? I am looking for the cut version, but I can't find either version.

I'm waiting for bug reports first. For that I've posted a beta version. It can be found here or in development folder

As you can see, now the cut version is not a separate version, but is an addition. You have to put after the main file.

What exactly is the error message?
Does windows version work? Does LV4 or LV4cut version gives the error?

Posted: 30 Nov 2005 07:16
by DaleStan
The error message is "More sprites than specified". As in "Your sprite 0 is royally broken. Please re-run NFORenum." (Correct values are 0*4 6D 1F 00 00 for the DOS version and 0*4 7A 1F 00 00 for the Win version, BTW.)

You also have misplaced real sprites (6315..18), missing real sprites (6326), and four definitions of label E0 (sprites 6482, 7225, 7731, and 7852) in the DOS version. (The Win version is clean save for the sprite 67/87 duplicate definition of cargoID, which the DOS version shares.)

/me diffs the two NFOs.
/me fixes the NFOs and produces a meaningful diff.
OK. it's *still* a 1400-line[1] diff. And that's after doing all the standard stuff to make the diff shorter: making the filenames in the realsprites match, @@DIFFing, and editing the sprite 0s so they match.

This is me, deliberately NOT asking how you managed this.

[1] No. I did not put an extra digit in there. To be exact, there are fourteen hundred and six lines of unified diff. Pulling the bogus real-sprite changes reduces it ... to ... "only" 852 (eight hundred fifty two).

I'll have a look in the evening.

I would have guessed that "Have a look" would involve "convert the Windows GRF to a DOS GRF. Post resultant GRF."

As usual, testing this is entirely too much bother (my shell scripts haven't failed me yet), but here's a Win2DOS of the Windows version, which, with any luck, will work.
