Re: What video games have you played lately?
I wrote earlier that I'm playing GTA: San Andreas. I know it's an oldie, but I played it for the first time.
Great game! A screenshot from my CJ on top of the roof of the highest building in Los Santos (just before I started my base-jump):
Now I can't wait for a version of GTA V on my PC.

What a joke right?Jolteon wrote:I spent yesterday on SimCity beta. I was unimpressed, sadly. Although the 1 hour play limit wasn't really enough to get too into the game neither, nor long enough to do proper bug hunting.

Just played a bit of GTA 2.
Best GTA ever, I'm telling you. That retrofuturistic theme... Makes me wonder why Rockstar never re-visited the concept (and Anywhere City, where the game takes place).
Didn't take any screenshots, but here's an official artwork.

Re: What video games have you played lately?
Yep, that one really has that feel to it.
But all in all, it is a game about gang wars in a corrupted city.

You know, that would be really kind of cool, if they did a sort of cartoonish 50's futurism full-3D GTA game.

Re: What video games have you played lately?
With the current focus on """"realism"""" in Western games I wouldn't expect that to happen. Ever ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Some CK2+, what with all the new features in the patch.
As Duke of Britanny, conquered the Fractelli infested Wales, obviously burning all the heretics, and celebrated my achievement by forming the Kingdom of Britanny. Also married my oldest daughter to the King of Scotland, who was then killed by traitors in a rebellion, so his son and wife ended up back in my court. Now the traitor's lineage has almost died out, and my grandson is next in line to his rightful Scottish throne, so I quickly married him to the eldest daughter of my heir. Also, a successful Crusade against the crumbling Orthodox Empire of Byzantium carved out the Latin Empire, and due to a rather inexplicable situation the heir agreed to marry one of my daughters matrimonially.
So, if all goes well my dynasty will end up Kings of Britanny (technically also Kings of Wales, but there's no point in having two King titles...) and a branch as Kings of Scotland and Emperors of the Latin Empire.

Re: What video games have you played lately?
Reminds me, they finally announced Pagan DLC
Huzzar! plus you can start in the Dark Ages now. Extra brilliant for me as I love playing in a divided, Dark Age Britain, and also for when I play the Eastern Roman Empire.
Have yet to get the Republic Expansion, but I shall at some point.

I've not yet played any GTA after GTA 2 but I'd love if they did that. I'd play the s*** out of that.Drury wrote:You know, that would be really kind of cool, if they did a sort of cartoonish 50's futurism full-3D GTA game.

Re: What video games have you played lately?
It'll have to be better than the original GTA expansion pack though, somehow I wasn't too fond of that one. Except for the "You're nicked!" thing.Ploes wrote:I still want a 60's London GTA in 3D.

Re: What video games have you played lately?
Currently playing a lot of Need For Speed: Most Wanted.
Not normally a N4S fan, but this one plays a lot more like Burnout than previous games.
Max Payne 3. Finished single player, didnt really get into Multiplayer.
GTA4 again Finished single player, didnt really get into Multiplayer.
Still raging about how Rockstar has released a duff game. Both endings run into problems on overspec PCs. I had to run FRAPS to lower the Frame Rate to be able to finish both endings (Revenge and Deal). Not impressed.
Got both Portal and Portal 2 in the Steam sale (think it was £6 for both!). Very fun. Not tried Portal 2 Co-op but now I've finished both games thats next!

Re: What video games have you played lately?
I never completely finished it. Failed at flying the helicopter. I can fly a helicopter just fine in VC and SA, but somehow they changed the controls.Ploes wrote:GTA4 again Finished single player, didnt really get into Multiplayer.
Just played a bit of Metro 2033. Interesting story, though I still need to get the hang of this first person shooting. When I'm attacked it takes too long to figure out from what direction. But it's actually the first game with high system requirements that I'm trying on my new pc. I'm quite impressed, as it runs fine on high in full HD.
Re: What video games have you played lately?
looking at getting the new dead space coming out next week,
if its as good as the first 2, then this will be an awesome addition to my games collection hehe

The controls were "messy"FooBar wrote:I never completely finished it. Failed at flying the helicopter.
I found it hard to fly and shot. Had to re-assign a lot of keys to get any good at it!
Also in some of the missions, there was no point in shooting from the helicopter, the thing you were chaceing was actually invinceable until you got to a key point after all the cut seens!
