I can help with the code, but I only can copy and paste NFO actions because callbacks are too difficult for me (now).
Also I will try to add some support for ECS and the future feature railtypes.

I did some improvements today.
They are worked on Purno's TGV Atlantique with several modifications. I use Purno sprites because I like them so much (are very simplistic and easy to understand) and because I'm too newbie to do my own sprites :(

I always put all the composition to show how is the real composition.
In this case, the real composition is: Engine-4 Tourist Class Cars-1 Bar Car-3 Preferred Class Cars-Engine
The composition is very important to code the model, because this composition have 10 cars, I you want a doble composition you have to couple 2 complete compositions, not adding more towed cars:

Engine-8Cars-E-E-8C-E <- This is the correct model
E-16C-E <- Not this

Now I'm drawing Talgo VII "Altaria" Cars. I'll draw Talgo IV cars, Talgo VI cars and Talgo VII cars to do the compositions that you prefer in the game. Let me to explain: In Spain diferent passengers services like "Talgo", "Altaria" or "Trenhotel" use diferent talgo cars type like "Talgo IV", "Talgo VII" or "Talgo V". Diferent talgo compositions have diferent characteristics like maxium speed, lenght... The locomotive is not the most important, because they can use all kind of locomotives: 252, 269, 353, 334, 333... For example, 252 have 220 km/h maxium speed, but if it have Talgo III cars, the complete composition is limited to 160 km/h by the cars.
I want to put the most important talgo cars allowing the gammer to do the composition that he prefers with different characteristics.

Talgo VII Cars (with 252 locomotive):

Complete composition: 9 cars: 3 preferred cars, 1 bar car and 5 tourist car.
Maxium speed: 220 km/h
Variable gauge

This is a updated release of High speed railway GRF. I have added all climates (and default bridges). This GRF replaces the monorail tracks (in TTDPatch) or maglev tracks (OpenTTD) if You use the Spain set.

There are some things to do:
  • Add translations in other languages.
  • A single file for TTDP and OTTD would be better.
  • There are some OTTD icons not replaced.
  • It would be interesting a parameter if a user doesn't want replace the tunnels in normal tracks.
New graphics specs page for Action 7 was very helpful:

NOTE: The viaduct and other bridges was proposed in Total Bridge Renewal Set (see topic). It is not included in high speed railway GRF.

Looks great! Any chance of posting it in a ZIP file? Most people can't handle TARs.

Actually, WinZIP handles TAR files without problems...

And anyone that can download TTDPatch should be able to download 7zip or any other of the free unzippers.

That's not a part of the rails graphics, that is a separate graphic that's controlled and switched separately via a GRF file. Dunno if you can turn them on just in this one small GRF though.

Yes, It is another thing to do. Also, It would be interesting support different roadsets. It needs special code to detect GRFs and use the correct crossings.

But it still should show the default overhead wires at electric rails in the last screenshot, that got nothing to do with rail sprite replacement ;)

Take a look here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 62&start=0 Stevenh already had made a patch. It just needs some updating and maybe some cleaning and I think it's ready for trunk.

I think this would be a nice add to trunk, as the Japan Set, Spain Set and the (future?) Swiss Set would benifit from it a lot! :)
