That is kind of the point, they are there to hold up traffic and make road vehicles get stuck! feel free to modify the grf yourself but the car speeds in the official set will remain unchanged...

hi!

I've got a problem with "Generic Cars v0.4" - As soon as I play a game with this newGRF enabled, all audiofiles that have been added with those zero-cost-cars, have a very high pitched frequency. It gives me a headache - I can't play on with those sounds... please help, thanks. :(

Set parameter 1 to 1 (ie. put "1" without the quotes in the parameters).

kk.. told the cars to shut up by modifying the cars.grf... *silence is golden* :D

But if anyone knows how to get rid of those frequencies, please feel free to tell me...

The author will have to make new sound files to do that, I'd think.

Because the problem with the audio is not one that the end user can resolve themselves. Yes they can turn all sounds off, but that doesn't resolve the inherent problem with the audio. Therefore, it will require the Zeph to fix the audio and post a new version. I'm not saying that this must be done, I'm saying that this is the only proper solution for the problem. He's perfectly free to do nothing. Although I think that would be a little insensitive to individuals who have a legitimate physical problem.

That would be me, actually.

I'm not hearing anything oddly high-pitched in the sounds I've used, so it's either a bug in the user's build of OTTD, or a matter of personal preference. As Zephyris pointed out, you can set a GRF parameter to disable the random beeping.

I like the generic cars with the street cars AI.
But there is missing a horse-drawn coach for the early years.
Don't you like to convent one of your eGRVTS coaches into a smaller version and add it to the generic cars?

Maybee like this.

Why does it have to replace the buses though? I can't really use it because I use buses a lot.

That is how NewGRF works. One has to overwrite default vehicles or even remove all of them.

If you have "multiple newgrf engine sets" enabled in the advanced settings, you can load a secondary NewGRF that restores the original vehicles. I don't know if something like that exists, but as an alternative you can try OpenGFX+Roadvehicles. That is very similar to the original vehicles, but then better.
