I really have to stop with this double posting.. or in this case tripple posting. Anyway I think everyone know who SAC is or was and she did some great looking sprites a while ago and I've been thinking. Since SAC's not active anymore (or maybe she is and I don't know about it) and her sprites looked kind of swedish would it be wrong of me to "steal" some of the sprites done by SAC? Credits would ofcourse go to her and I might change them a little bit.
Some of the sprites I have in mind are these. (maybe not the IKEA)
I think that the best way to contact SAC is via TTArtist forums(You have to register to see anything there). You(or we in this case) should not use any graphics without asking permission, unless graphics have been licensed with license that allows reusing, and even then it is imo polite to ask.

That would probably be the best way, if she's still activ there.
Benny, you aren't in the position to allow someone to use abandoned sprites, actually nobody can do that, except the owner, that is why NO license is that bad.
Irwe, if you can't email SAC, just give those sprites up and try to make them self, you are a very good drawer. You won't go in troubles then.

Just use the sprites, and if SAC ever shows up you can ask her. I really doubt she'll sue you because of some sprites.
Copyright expires like 70 years after the death of the copyright holder... Surely she can be contacted via e-mail or alike. But going like "she isn't active right now, I may rip her of her assets" surely is a very crappy attitude. And her position on that is actually quite clear, if you read back the threads referring to it.

Search shows SAC was last here Jan 2009...try PM, see what happens.
...this is why some of us insist on using the GPL wherever we can. We know licensing kind of bores a lot of people, but not being able to use *awesome* sprites is more boring

Indeed. The fact that there is really good looking sprites out there but I can't use them is irritating, but I can always try to draw something similar.
