Hmm, ALL my screenshots have been accurate, mind you. No fakes as far as I'm aware of!
Hello SAC,

My sincere apologies for this error of mine. I thought those corners of yours where just to show us how they could look in game; a sort of mock-up or something. I should have checked before writing about them. Sorry. You were talking about graphic illusions overthere. I guess I interpreted that in the wrong way.

But I did provoke a reaction from you, didn't I...

I'm glad you're still around. :D

Kind regards,
Smaug

It's okey! I was talking about an illusion in the sense that I'd arranged those particular graphics to sort of make them look as they appear to be forming a water front. Everything showcased in my screens has always been "for real"!

Thanks both, :)) , but I'm not coming back in the sense that I'm planning to re-open my threads again. I just wanted to make some inputs here and there - for the time being...

FYI, I'm posting finished sprites, including my ISR contributions, on my site tt-foundry.com
It seems the best way to make all sprites available in one place, for anyone who wants to use them. I will link that site to the discussion threads at some point.

cheers,

Andy

That's a good effort, Andy, I like the idea of a site dedicated to graphics resources for ttd sprite drawing. Why needlessly duplicate things? Quality idea, I reckon. We need similar for various kinds of fences, foliage, etc.

Might inspire me to actually finish pixeling up some of those stations I was working on :).

I'm very busy with 'real life' for the next week or so. But I just wanted to say:

>ISA and Smaug: I'm afraid having station tiles on corner slopes is not possible, due to the limitations of the types of slope on which railway station tiles can be built. However SAC achieved this, I don’t believe it was done with station tiles.

I am assuming this was done using some kind of eye candy trick, because i would be nice to have that ability. Course what would you use if it wasn't station tiles.

Well, as pointed out earlier it's not possible to place station tiles on corner slopes - unless something has happened ever since my leave - but nothing prevents us from creating illusions. And by all means, my screens, as accurate as they are, are filled with illusions, and some of them you may be able to spot by having a closer look below;

Yes I can see that SAC uses those lanterns or lamps, dunno how to call it, to solve a problem! If those "lamps" would be available with ISR (with same tile colors as ISR empty tile is, hope you understand what I mean) but as eye candy to replace lighthouse or something else?! There was some time ago grf where those "lamps" were available?!
But is it possible to add those in game or only in scenario editor? I remember some development about that somewhere some time ago.

Eye candy patch for OTTD: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... =eye+candy
Wouls be best if it was in a GRF. But i do like it. Thing is a use TTR so it wouldn't match.

Course them screnshots SAC are amazing, i would imagine you made all the buildings, track and assorted other things because they don't exsist on tt-forums as far as i know. Hance making you screenshots unique.

@SAC: Displaying those screenies might be considered "Cruelty to animals" (i.e. we are the poor, poor animals that have to wait forever for something)

I noticed that your streetlights are actually drawn on to the roads themselves, so they look great, except the veihcles drive over them!

I cant however work out how you did the corner waterfront part. Is it a secret or can you tell us? It looks amazing though. Maybe someone could write a patch allowing you to build on the very corner tile in OTTD?

I never get bored of looking at those screenshots.
