Just for the record, I'm also trying to get 32px depots up and working again, so that it can be part of the stable or the main stream patch releases sometime.
If you don't want it, I can stop progress and devote my attentions somewhere else.

Does that work when the 'back' car is motorless? Only the X9 end has a motor, X9b is only 'manouver' (or whatever it's called) - another price, another weight.

BTW, your X9 consist is too long :-)

Lakie, of course it's wanted. It looks much nicer :-)

AndersI, you're right, multiheaded won't do that. You could either just pretend (heh) or do something similar to how the ICE-3 in dbsetxl handles it.

As for the X9, well, I didn't know :-) Perhaps investigate callback 1D?

Yes, I think that's the easiest way, to have pantographs only on the <-- view, not the --> and then mark as multiheaded. Saves one GraphID too :-)

That's a lot of code to read and understand...

Well, I wrote

Code: Select all

[X9; 1 or 2 UB9; X9b] optionally with one repeat
isn't that clear as crystal? :-)

Callbacks? No way, not yet - I've only been coding for a week!

I've done some testing with two different versions of OpenTTD (nightly r4777 and 0.4.5).
The stable version 0.4.5 handles the train set nicely, however the nightly build seems to be suffering from some problems.

First of all, I have almost all trains by 1950 and then I don't get anymore from this set (only trains from artic and sub-tropic :!: ), and the trains also seems to be having some problems with trains go up a bridge, as they seem to sink partly through it.

But as I said, the stable version handles it good.

BTW, are you making more trains and waggons for this set? IMO the waggons look rather bad when hauled by these trains.

As long as it's fun, and I find the time I suppose I will add more things...

But first I must get these initial ones completely right; form, color and placement.
IMO the waggons look rather bad when hauled by these trains.
Do you mean that the wagons I've drawn doesn't look good with the engines, or do you mean that the TT original wagons doesn't look good with those engines?

Anders, I think he's referring to the freight wagons ;)

Yes, that's what I meant. Some of the original waggons look rather bad behind your nice locomotives.

On hold? Well, sort of, I guess. I visited Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburg, Glengoyne whisky destillery, ...) last week, and now the school term is almost over. I have two boys, 19 and 16, they are both leaving their respective school so there's lots of partying to arrange, then there's the marriage anniversary (22 years), a little vacation trip to the Swedish west coast, taking care of the house and garden, cleaning out the garage, and so on ...

Real life takes its toll sometimes, but be sure, I will revisit my trains. In fact, I have both made a lot of adjustments (positioning, pixels) on the trains and drawn one more wagon for mail (it should be used with the Green Cargo variation of Rc6, and the trains should *only* have mail wagons).

I've done a little testing with OpenTTD, and it seems to be working fine.

Great! I love it! :D

One question though, do you have any plans on what trains and carriges you are going to make?

No, I don't have any definitive plans, I just draw what I want to play with in the game.

I'm open to suggestions, the more facts you can deliver about the train, the better. And I reserve the right to completely ignore a suggestion if it looks too difficult, or doesn't interest me

Okay, cause I was thinking about some swedish cargo waggons.

But I haven't found very much info about them yet (nor pictures).
But you can find some info here.
It would be nice to have some swedish cargo waggons as well, but I'm not forcing you to make them.

I load the DBSetXL before my trains, that gives me a lot of cargo wagons that are acceptably Swedish looking. Try it!

BTW, that's quite a good link for the wagons, much data available too.

Oh, I see. But you can't do that in OpenTTD, so I'm stuck with the old waggons...

Well, as much as I like your train set, you can't convert me that easy!

I've used OpenTTD for over one year now, and so I've gotten used to it.
So, maybe you could create just two or three cargo waggons?
