The staircases of the overpasses are really steep. What if you are a disabled person? :(

Allright before i continue with the stations set i need to have this clear:

- What do you prefe: work in TTD Style (Meaning that i will have to adjust the platforms and halls to a more lighter color) or a more realistic set with the colors as they are now.

The set will be divided in three major platforms parts and a station building part. The three major styles are: rural, urban and simple. Simple will be the simple basics one platform, overpass, underpass, crossover and track end tiles.
Both rural and urban can use of them. Urban and rural are additions to the simple to give a station a more country or city style.

Rural will have hedges on the platform and only the simple 'furniture' (eg benches, windshield, waiting cabin, sign) There will be no double platforms in this feature.

Urban is a more elaborated set:
It will have a fence (white or black-orange depending on the time period)
This set will have the simple furniture (not roofed) such as a bench, sign, and waiting cabin.
There will be three types of roofs each with two furniture variants (empty and waiting cabin) and an overpass and underpass. There will be no crossover.

As you have seen in the latest picture i have created just one platform adjecting to a track, either left or rightsided. I wanted to have this as the base assumption of all platforms (contrary to TTD where one track is always covered by two platforms. Though it is possible to have it the TTD way, i wanted to create a realistic set. This also gives the oppertunity to have a middle track (though not technically functioning) as an option for larger stations.

Finally there will be two types of station halls an old one (as you have seen) and a modern one.

This will all be available on an excel sheet.

Caelan wrote:It certainly looks promising, perhaps you can draw some waiting cabins over the years as well. That is, if that is possible in the game to have more then one type of busstop. I like it that you are working on a bus set. Maybe it all comes together, the DUTCH trainset, stationset, buildingset and busset... I am very curious what it all may bring us!
I guess in the case of a waiting cabin, it should be about 8px long, 3 wide and 4 high or so? How many room is there beside a road?

And about the station, Personally I prefer the more realistic style, the "darker style". Anyways, great shape.

I can't help but think that the center of the arched roof isn't the center, Caelan. I get the feeling that the part to the left of the center is wider than the part on the right side. But the level of detail is awesome for the arched roof. Amsterdam CS looks impressive too, you seem to master the shape of it. Can't wait for your textured version :). And please keep them TTD style.

I am always interested in pictures of nice stations, please PM to me.

So i will continue with the current ' darker' graphics and will update my stations a bit to fit with that. I have also learned that there will be new electified tracks in the dutch set. I have adjusted the height of the overpasses to that a bit.

I have a first draft version almost finished to be sent to a coder (hopefully Aegir is still willing) I will try to include it with passengers.

And a double post:

Here are my sprites ready to be coded. I have made pictures aside to show how i would like them to be coded. (I will not yet start with a third dead rail in the middle. Nor the passangers, that comes later when these are working correct.)

If Aegir would be willing to code these we could have a try out.

when you do the fake track down the middle it should be optional as some people might not want it.

I like that sprite set you have there. Several good ideas for station pieces. However, you don't seem to have a perimeter fence or rail: you really should!

Looks nice, but I suggest that the platform under the station hall got some furniture too (like benches). Great work tho! :!:

What do you mean by a fence or rail perimeter? Would you like to see a fence with every platform? It is possible and already one of my upcoming features but i first wanted to see how this set would look like in game...

Not sure what you mean, but then again you weren't sure what I meant. I mean a fence that goes on the edges of stations, like with MB set, and my own. But if you say this set is just for testing, no worries. :)

Alright i will add some fencing around the platforms as well in the rural set...hedges in the country set. This is just the simple basic set and as i said for testing. That is if there is someone to code this...

I hope someone stands up to code the set i have created so far. It would be a waste of time to draw more if this is not really a good set in practice... SO until the basic platform set is coded (as you can see above) I shall turn my attention to drawing houses...

When it is coded i will try some more platforms and stations. Thank you all!

I haven't been around to do much work on the set lately, but rest assured new graphics will come up!

Anyone who knows a good coder for my station set is welcome!

And really people i am near to desperation, nothing is more frustrating then the ability to draw nice sets, but never see them in the game!

be patient, your graphics are very good, so they'll come ingame eventually.

or, you could try to learn to code them yourself, tt-forums is still short on coders I believe.

I'd love to help out with this set, although i've never attempted drawing a station or buildings for that matter, so i'll need to know the dimensions of the platforms etc. and pic's of anything you want done. But i've seen some of the Euro stations and the look really interesting, great modern achitechture in A LOT of them :D
