smoke for ships doesn't work for me (fish 0.7.0, ottd r21532, win64)

maybe you need animation on or other details?

I think only 2 or 3 ships have smoke... that might be the cause.

Hi all,

My name is Nicholas, I'm new to the forum but a longtime player. I recently downloaded the FISH set, but I keep getting a error message when I try and run it, see attached file. I'm running OpenTTD 1.0.5.

When replying, please keep in mind I'm just a player and not a TTD techie, so please expalin everthing step by step... :wink:

Just do what it says and use a nightly build since the smoke\exhaust for everything (besides trains) feature was only recently incorporated into the nightlys but not in the stables yet.

The next release of FISH will fix this little problem.

Meanwhile...if you want to use FISH 0.7.0, the OpenTTD nightly can be downloaded here: http://www.openttd.org/en/download-trunk

Or you can download an older version of FISH such as 0.6.2 which should work with OpenTTD 1.0.5. FISH versions are here: http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/fish/releases/

FISH 0.8.0 released - first post of thread or on bananas.

Changes
Restored compatibility with OpenTTD 0.7.x and 1.0.x (was incompatible due to use of smoke, now resolved).
Improved graphical style of many ships, including complete rework of River Boats.
Several changes to improve gameplay balance of set:
- removed Medium Coaster, increased capacity of Small Coaster.
- removed Large Trader, renamed Medium Trader to Large Trader.
- changed capacity of several other freight ships (some bigger, some smaller).
Changes shouldn't break savegames, but there may be a few odd effects (some 'removed' ships might still be available in buy menu).

See my latest setup - tramway which feeds coal from mines to dock where it is loaded with coal to be taken to power station...

Heh :) Thanks. Feedback encourages more work.

The fix to FISH so it works with OpenTTD 1.0.x / 0.7.x was done by planetmaker, so he's due thanks for that ;)

Hey Andy, i tried a recent nightly of FISH but the smoke\exhuast feature wasnt working on the few ships that should have it (at this time due to limitations in opettd) Im using a nightly later then the one needed (HEQS works fine)

FISH 0.8.1 released - first post of thread or on Bananas.

Changes
Improved graphical style of Small and Large Coasters.
Add cranes / masts to some other ships.
Log Rafts can be refitted to multiple capacities (95t, 210t, 400t).
Internal changes (convert more pcx files to png, tidy up a few things).

FISH 0.8.2 released - Bananas and first post of thread.

Changes
Many ships now have a smaller capacity for freight than for passengers.
Utility Vessel passenger capacity increased to 60.
FISH no longer disables default ferries - this is a temporary feature until more small-sized ferries are finished.
Various minor graphical fixes.
