ISR/DWE style dock and objects, Version 1.1 released

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
Rats!! Ran into some trouble with the roadcovering tiles. Apparently it's only possible to cover up roads that are placed on a flat surface. Roads on slopes can not be covered up. So I'ts not possible to have covered up roads on the docksides
I'm glad that I code every new graphic directly after it's drawn, so I dont have a lot of useless graphics lying around now (and wasted a lot of drawing time) Projects: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=57266

Hope there still is a trick to get that right.

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
Maybe making a 2-tile object that is placed on the water in front, overlapping the road sprite above it?

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
That doesn't work, the entire vehicle will dissappear when it drives through that. What does work however is building it along a canal! Ships will not pass over the objecttile, so if you want ships to pass through that canal, you have to make the canal at least 2 tiles wide.

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
Is even better because it looks so ugly when ships pass alnog the edge of a canal. MAyb eit is nice to include some static ships under the cranes as well.

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
Yep, static ships as eyecandy objecttiles are planned.

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
Finished all the drivethru-tiles (added all the views of the crane and the buffers, placeable in water if needed, see pic below). Gonna make some 1 tile eyecandyobjects and then I will try to make a nice stand-alone GRF (right now my code and graphics are spreaded over some several grf's), so you all can use it too!

Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
lead@inbox has very kindly given me permission to use some of the shipgraphics he made, my sincere gratitude!! His graphics can be found here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 80#p719599
I hope someone who is able to code ships will pick these up, because they are wonderful!
I will include some of them as eyecandy tiles, looks like this:

I so can not wait to see this released...
Everybody can contribute to OTTD! It does not require you to be an IT specialist or designer. And it does not take days or weeks of your time either.
There are many simple yet important tasks like translations, investigating facts and details and many other that need work and if you help a bit then the experienced developers can focus more on making OTTD even more awesome!
OTTD = Awesomeness created by a whole lot of volunteers, be one of them if you like the game!

This is nicely taking shape! I like my games to focus on industry, and this will fit in nicely with seaside industrial complexes.
Absolute beautiful work so far!

Wow, that looks so cool, think lots of people will use this set.
Funny how this great harbor set started, just because the rails wasn't running over the docks, and you needer corner rails.

It's not exactly easy to find. Maybe you care to upload your NewGRF to bananas
OpenTTD: manual | online content | translations | Wanted contributions and patches
#openttdcoop: blog | wiki | public server | DevZone | NewGRF web translator
DevZone - home of the free NewGRFs: OpenSFX | OpenMSX | OpenGFX | Swedish Rails | OpenGFX+ Trains|RV|Industries|Airports|Landscape | NML
Re: New dockgraphics and objecttiles compatible with ISR
This made me curious and then I found the 2CC ships. They look amazing! Love the big laker especially. Too bad this has not been published as NewGRF on Bananas yet!!!
May some of the former devs of that project feel like picking it up again?
