This looks quite good but I think this is in the wrong forum.

It's also in the crowd-funding stage, so nothing has been firmed up yet!

It looks to be very similar in style to Cities in Motion, here's hoping the infrastructure is easily customisable.

Someone could probably clean up if they get this right, but I think they need to provide more evidence about their claim that there are 1 million people in the transport sim community. OpenTTD is free, and they will charge - its got to be good.

It looks promising but also the game does not look very well thought through. They constructed only 3 routes in this video, yet the Route Window already felt cluttered. I'm not sure a massive empire will benefit from having 230 different routes in that video. What if we are constructing a massive route with 10 trains on it? There must be some sort of Duplicate Order, etc. but I am sure this will all be added. After all, they did say it's Pre-Alpha.

My first impression is why the awfully generic name, 'Train Fever'? It sounds more like the name of a third-rate Wii party game than a transport simulator. There's nothing to it to get you enthusiactic about the product.

As for the product itself: Role-playing elements?...character development?...skill training? Blech! Isn't this a transport empire building game? The only thing I want to develop is a network, not a 'character'.

I think its very exciting, its a been a long time since we had a new decent transport sim, thought it might come through KickStart or similar.

Looks good! Will find some cash for this.

Train Fever Project

Post by Buggi »

Looks like someone is finally trying to update Transport Tycoon to the modern day.

I know it's pretty taboo, but I highly recommend fans check out www.train-fever.com

I'm not affiliated with the project in any way, I would just love to see the game released. I am a US resident and thusly can't invest in the project, if I could I would.

20€ per share, and about 3€ for transaction costs end taxes.
But if you buy at least 2 shares you get the game for free. :-)

I wish I could invest. :(

But good news for supporters! The project head recently posted that they will be supporting Linux!

With that 50,000 outside investment they are soooo close to their goal!

It is a nice way of investing in something you like. After that 50k things went fast. A month to go and just under 100k short of an initial 300k goal. I invested 100 euro.

Train Fever is a modern-day Transport Tycoon (business simulation) based on an engine with a great innovative scope. Specialized in procedural content and urban simulation.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this is the best TT-esque game that's coming up. A shameless rip-off it may be, but it looks like great fun. I haven't played A-Train 9 yet, but I'm fairly confident that this is even better. Backing it for at least 20 euros when I get home.

Look at it here. Also gameplay video is here.

Oops, I hadn't seen either of those, only checked the first 2 pages or so. Guess this can be closed. :)
