EWS Mini Cargo Set [Looking for adoption][please lock]

Post by Commie Si »

Well I have two questions really, either this could be incorporated into the "revived" BRSet or be a standalone. I find it nicer to see actual cargo trains pulling cargo so this complete with rolling stock, I think, could work.
Heres my 1st attempt at a Class 60
Image

What I want out of this ideally is a few EWS locos spreading through the ages, along with complimentary rolling stock so EWS could handle all freight...

Steel truck inspiration
"Each of the three covers slide along the length of the wagon
and are of decreasing size to enable them open by sliding under the adjacent cover"
So the loading gfx could be quite tasty

Open Trucks
Image
I think i got the height and length about right...

(I will admit they do need more texture in general especially the wagons and in the truck itself)

the only problem wit hthe trucks is that you have to remember, for the side view, is that you arent looking side on, you're looking at it from height, so you should be able to see the flat bit of the truck

About the shading. I am making my first ever sprite at the moment and I'm a bit confused about it. Where does the light come from in TTD?

Also, I'm not sure whether this has been asked already, but do TTD sprites work in Open TTD and vice versa?

It's probably been asked. If it has, could someone pleasedirect me to a topic where the answer is contained?

Thanks.

Most common interpetation is that light comes from right in TTD.
Purno's drawing tutorials could be most helpful to you when doing your first sprite.

The slopes are too steep.
Besides, you should see something from the front and rear in _ view.

Other than that, keep up the great work!
