Re: [TTDP] Jim Powers Savegames
Sorry to hear you've been down Jim,
I've been mostly hiding in the background for a bit, spent most of my spare time trackside these last few weeks. I do like my real trains a lot more than my pretend ones
Hope you're feeling better mate, ever need a favour, drop us a line!

Re: [TTDP] Jim Powers Savegames
I've been playing Almighty Alpine for a few days now, it got me back on ttd
it's a slow starter, but once you make the wood line from the woods on the West and connect it to the paper maché mill in the East, a trainload can pay for two clones of itself
I note there are no food factories or farms to expand the towns with I suppose I could take a chunk out of my £50,000,000 (as of 1953)

Re: Almighty Alpine
Mr. Raichase;
Thanks, Big Guy, you've been a real friend. Heck, Israel is just a hard place to
make a living and enjoy life. There are some very warm-hearted people here, but,
none-the-less it's a backwards country.
Mr. M3henry, I really hope you're enjoying "Almighty Alpine"as much as I am.
One thing I found out though, I'm not loosing any population. I'm either gaining
a little or staying the same. By the cities being at the highest part of the map,
one can alter the sculptured side of the mountains to make way for RR or whatever.
Farms can't be planted above the snowline, thus all food must be 'imported'.
The paper mills are great fun with all the wood around. The coal is plentful, and
making plastic from oil is a blast. That plastic pays good. Of course, I like making steel,
though it don't pay as much, but keeping those furnaces running is quite a challenge.
All in all,"Almighty Alpine" is the very best scenario I've ever made. Thanks for
your comments, kind Sir.
Always,
Jim Powers

Re: [TTDP] Jim Powers Savegames
I find that 5 parts coal to 9 parts iron ore make the best steel and my railways cling and bore around the mountains giving them grades of 2742/7, making them an easy climb for the express wood trains. the towns don't srink because of the food supply and TTD's growth limitations
now you need to create 'INTERESTING ISRÆL'

Re: [TTDP] Jim Powers Savegames
Hi there,
As I'm new and like A LOT of these scenarios I thought why not make 1 myself. Well I liked the Jim Powers 1 of Japan so he why not make it playable for TT. I edited the Tokyo Experience file so full credit goes to him. After I deleted the unwanted parts I added more industries (nothing better the haveing lots of industries to build railways to) and A LOT of trees.
I named it to credit Jim Powers: The Tokyo Experience 2
I also added in OTTD editor the Japan names, buildings, Japanset (trains) so I hope they work
edit: didn't work correctly so I deleted it and as Mr J. Powers had probs with me using it I will make my own in the ottd part of the forum now I know how easy it is to work around some issues.

Re: Changed Scenarios
Mr. Lancelot1;
Welcome to TT-Forums. I hope you'll find a lot of enjoyment here.
Now, about my scenarios. While I appreciate your interest and enthusiasm, no one has
the right to modify any of my scenarios without my express permission. First of all,
I only make scenarios for TTDPatch. While I'm not opposed to OTT, I'm also not a part of
OTT either. Therefore my scenarios are made to match the TTDPatch features
and graphics. Alright now, if you want to change, customize, or whatever, please open
your own topic and post them there. Or PM (private message) me and we'll discuss how
best to show your changed scenario, as was done on Page #22 with one of my scenarios
called "Noticable Neitherlands", where Mr. The Irish and I worked out a way to display
his version of my scenario and everyone got to enjoy his modified work. Does this sound
like a good idea? I hope so.

Scenarios
Mr. Mr. Lancelot1;
Please don't be offended, Sir. Listen, I don't have a problem with your modified work, the
'problem' is how it was done. That's all. I build scenarios for one reason and one reason
only, and that is for others to enjoy my work in TTD. It gives me great pleasure to make
others happy. I just would like you to place your work under your topic, and explain
that it's been changed from my original scenario, to match what you like in the scenario.
When I first started, I 'tweaked' some of the scenarios , after obtaining the author's
permission, and I placed those under my topic. See, I want to encourage you all I
can to make scenarios, it's fun. I will help you all I can. If you read down through my
(79) pages of topic, you'll find that I've always tried to cause more scenarios to be made.
I sure don't have a monopoly on scenarios, that's absurd thinking, it's just that somehow
they've become fairly popular, which is very good. (BTW, my scenarios just passed
35,000 downloads.)
So, my fellow TT member, be encouraged, (as I've been encouraged by other TT fans,)
and let's try to make a spactacular scenario which hasn't been made before. OK?
Thanks for (hopefully) understanding.
Hey, Mr. Dave Worley, thanks for your great support!

My Scenarios are for TTDPatch.
Mr. Dopefish_lives;
All my scenarios are made for TTDPatch. I don't know anything about OTT. Sorry I can't help you, Sir.

Gain a bit of respect next time. Jim Powers is worthy of a much more courteous request and response.

Dave was simply commenting that you could have been a bit more polite, and I agree with him. Nobody is saying you were rude, just that you could have been more polite.
There is no need for the response you posted above, that is rude, and against the rules.
Mind your manners please.

Not Offended
Dear TT Fans;
Everything is OK. I'm not offended, I realize the frustration that comes when you
are trying to make a scenario work. So, remember how I reacted last summer? Ugh,
(Maybe , don't remember, I'm still ashamed of my unreasonable behavior.)
Now, lets have a nice day and play some TTD!
BTW, tomarrow, if I have time, I want to post my latest finished scenario
called "Plain Game". Will tell you about it later.
Always,
Jim Powers

Plain Game Scenario
Mr. Badger & TTDP Fans;
Here is my last scenario, call "Plain Game".
I made this scenario with keeping the basics in mind. "Plain Game" has 4 coastal cities,
and 6 villages with a sprinkling of hills and valleys. (Very picturesque!)
With nicely balanced industries and farms, plus a raised "X" roadbed for vehicles.
All in all "Plain Game" is a lovely scenario, with many hours of relaxed
playing waiting for you to enjoy.
So, I hope you enjoy "Plain Game",
(just might NOT be so 'plain' after all.)
Always,
Jim Powers

Re: [TTDP] Jim Powers Savegames
I love plain games. They're nice.
Great to see you're still popping out maps at an amazing rate, Jim.
I'm sort of working on something at the moment, it might be something tangible with your help, if you catch my drift. I'm just sorting out the logistics of it all.

Imagination! Here, you learn what it is to be human. You are a creator of order, of beautiful shapes and systems, an organizer of chaos.

Plain Game Scenario
Mr. RPharazon;
Good to hear from you, my ol' Friend! Oh, I'm having the time of my life with this last
scenario "Plain Game". I knew it was gonna be a good one.
Listen, I'm 'all ears' on what you said. It was fun the last time, don't you think? Also,
I'll be releasing another scenario soon.
Here's pics from my saved game from "Plain Game".
Always,
Jim Powers
