Turn forcerebuildovl on. For some reason, recent versions of TTDPatch are failing if they find a TTDLOADW.OVL created by an older version. I'll file a bug report.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Just curious ... is there any reason why TTDLOADW.OVL should not be rebuilt every time? If this is acceptable then it could be hard coded into the patch and the switch removed.DaleStan wrote:Turn forcerebuildovl on. But we want all functionality optional. I geuse if you want to test something that requires a build p of versions then it might be needed.
Formerly known as r0b0t_b0y2003, robotboy, roboboy and beclawat. The best place to get the most recent nightly builds of TTDPatch is: http://roboboy.users.tt-forums.net/TTDPatch/nightlies/
Because it's faster to not rebuild it everytime, specially on old dos pcs.
TTDPatch dev in retirement ... Search a grf, try Grf Crawler 0.9 - now with even faster details view and new features...

Also, it should not be necessary to rebuild. I think the last time it was intentionally required that TTDLOADW.OVL be rebuilt was either immediately before or immediately after 2.0.1 alpha 10.
The fact that it is currently necessary is, IMO, a bug.

It could well be, that using TTDLOADW.OVL for both 2.5 beta 9 and 2.6 alphas causes problems.
I use the same files to run both. They all sit in the same directory. A batch file first copies ttdpatch.cfg and newgrf.cfg from a relevant directory, then I run mkpttxt%1.exe followed by ttdpatch%1.exe; %1 = version I want to run; all controlled via short cuts.
Thus, I can run multiple set ups easily. Rebuilding TTDLOADW.OVL seems to have fixed my problem.

Take you for your answers, working now on r1590. Just turned rebuild ttdload.ovl switch on.
I have another problem. Even when I downloaded newest version of ttdpbasew.grf it still doesn't work with that nightly version :/ Is there any nightly version of ttdpbasew.grf that I don't know about?

Maybe the one in sticked thread in General TTDpatch? This thread.
The last post should have a link to or download of the latest "ttdpbasew.grf".
If you use windows, please use the name "ttdpbasew.grf" as TTDpatch will check for it by default.
Hope that helps,
~ Lakie

Actually from that post, it sounds that his problem is solved Marshy.
