Question -- Stations with two platforms

In TTD, when I have a station with two platforms, the train goes to the second platform, if a train is on the first one. In Simutrans the train waits in front of the station until the other train leaves the station an doesn't care about the second platform.

Is it possible, to build a station with two or more platforms and the trains use both of them and not only the first?

Yes, you have to explicitely tell the train to choose at a certain point. For this point, use the choose signal (this thing with the forking arrow). A train will only stop at this signal is no route to a free platform is found.
