Newgrf authors might want to take a look at the commit for r21966
http://vcs.openttd.org/svn/changeset/21966/
This disables player flipping of trains in depot by default. Flipping can be enabled for the vehicle by setting bit 3 of prop 27 http://wiki.ttdpatch.net/tiki-index.php ... s_flags_27_
This is the correct behaviour - it's safer to assume vehicle can't be flipped by default. Newgrf authors can make the decision to enable flipping explicitly.

Re: OTTD r21966 corrects flip behaviour for trains
Well, because 1% of the newgrf trains glitch if the user misbehave, the commit disables a nice feature for advanced users. A bit unlucky is that this "feature" is one of the last one before the 1.1 branch.andythenorth wrote: This is the correct behaviour
I hope, newgrf authors do update their newgrfs, also the old versions like UKRS, CanSet 1.0 or DBSetXL 0.8 and we don't need to wait for the upcoming major releases.
