For the umpteenth time, prop 1A is not "move to location $FOO". It's "move to whatever location is currently occupied by ID $FOO".
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
well dalestan, i know that, and is kind of the problem as well. Because this set is something that will expand to infinate (*) time, and when adding something new, it may mess with the order.

Hey,
I'm going to bug test the metros and coaches today. I forget to do them last week.
One suggestion already:
Can you change the depart-sound of the metro's. Atm the sound is rather monorailish and scary.
Btw. If it's possible to add custom sounds, I can search for a better sound.
Bug #1:
81-729:
White bar below metro, both directions.
That's all no further bugs with the coaches.
Some final questions and remarks:
1) I see there's a long flatbed, but where's the short one?
2) The intermediate boxcar has the same capacity as the long boxcar.
3) In general, I think that the speed of the cargo coaches needs to be lowered to 120/140km/h. Atm freight trains in Holland/Germany are running 100/120 and the 'highspeed' cargoshutles around 140 km/h. The only freight what's going really fast atm. is post with the TGV Postal (270km/h).
Well that's it for today,
Good luck.

I don't know if it's fun to add wagon speed limits with 140km/h and less, since that would kinda render fast engines useless (since for passenger transport you got a bunch of MUs, so you only need the engines for cargo transport).

Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
im not 100% sure what road to choose here, however there are some pro's and cons (and some ar both), here in a random fashion:
* Mainly; The wagon speedlimit is an option, dont have to play with it turned on
* Faster engines gets kind of obsolite, however:
* The faster engines usually have high HP and medium to high TE
* Without speedlimits may the slow engines (Iore, Dm3, and others) be obsolite, mainly because of their slowness. (altho again, they are MIGHTY machines, i did a test with an TL50 full coal train, aprox 6-7000 tons), and it ran at almost-full-speed in mountainous terrain (70+km/h with a single engine))

Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
True true, but isn't it an idea to give the wagons only a stat update. So for example from 2010 --> 2011 the speedlimit is raised from 120 to 160 or even higher. So the wagons can be usefull for the future. Because in real life the speed of freight trains will rise.
Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
that can be done with ease
All modern cargowagons can get a speed-raise based on year... that should not be a problem i think

Hey it's a great set but it missing few future trains, you might want to checks this article http://www.popularmechanics.com/technol ... 82330.html
Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
I agree that some maglev trains could be fantastic. I saw a documentary yesterday about maglev and it's sound very promising !! If you put very high track building costs (5x up than electrics ?) and high prices for the locos but very low running costs it could be an alternative to high speed trains around 2010 years ! ...and of course, with the transrapid track mod out there
Don't you think so ?

I totally agree, and i'd love to do that, and i hopefully can in the future, but as newgrf is now, can one only have 3 different prices.dbkblk wrote:I agree that some maglev trains could be fantastic. Either:
Rails
Monorails
Maglevs
or
Rails
El-Rails
Mono/maglev.
And if i were up to me would i like to have 10k (or more) per tile of maglev, but dirt cheap to run. (25-30% of the normal el-trains) but that is not possible. Atleast not yet.
I know there are some work (in openttd) where one can add new tracktypes via newgrf, but that is not implemented yet, and it will most likely take some time as well.

Oh okay, so maybe until 2cc set will be finished. Sure that the best way is to polish and finalize this one first ^^
In fact, this set is gonna be "legendary"

I suppose it takes a few seconds from bell till train starts moving. Seems like both sounds start simultaneously here.

True, I can create some delay between the sounds, but the sound will be longer.
Re: The 2ccSet: The Trains of the World in 2cc (Alpha available)
well, i think it needs some fadeing out ... and it's a bit long perhaps? i mean ... metrostops ingame is perhaps 8 to 12 tiles inbetween.
I did a small test tho, and a 99kmh metro takes 10 or 11 tiles to play it...
shortened it a bit, and added a fade out

Nice
, I have the sounds separate at home. I you want them, reply or PM.
Btw. The sounds I used are a chime from the GVB and the second part of the acceleration sound from the Siemens Taurus.
Used sound
From the outside
Great engine, great sound
