Two Problems

Hi everyone!

I already searched around in the forums a lot but I couldn't find a specific solution for my two problems:

1. When I start a game, beginning in the year 2000, I don't have any locomotives available. Neither in tropic set nor in temperate set. I have the DBset installed available under this link:
http://www.ewetel.net/~michael.blunck/ttd/

2. I am thinking about using the BiggerMap-Patch and I already downloaded it but I don't know how to install it.

btw: I am using OpenTTD 0.3.3

Thanks in advance for your help!

1) see: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9376

2) you have to recompile the sources with biggermaps

1) Thank you! I think I know what was wrong. The trains are only missing in the tropical set.

2) Ok... stupid question: How do i do that? Is it complicated? And how do I "compile" the source back if I decide that I don't like the patch?

to compile the sources you need a builder/compiler for your OS, ex. MinGW for Windows, on Linux you can compile it with the built in compiler etc...

to compile it on windows search for the topic "Compile sources on Windows" or something else

and you need another important thing, a software that allow you to download the sources from the repository, like TortoiseSVN, this can do all work automatically so you don't need to download one file at time (about 100 files)
i don't know where is the mirror of the repository and the main repository is offline, so ask a developer to do this

I am running OpenTTD on MacOSx.

But I guess this is too complicated for me.
Compiling... Repository... SVN... ?! :D

why doesn't somebody just put up a compiled version of the bigger map version?? save us all the trouble and time..I'd do it myself but I simply haven't got the time.. so If somebody's done it already-why not put it up???
unless it's copyrighted or something?!?
