Adding Music and Sound

Post by Gatchaman »

Greetings! I apologize if this topic is already here, but I simply could not find it. I just downloaded OpenTTD and the game is running fine. However, I want to add music and sounds. I downloaded the OpenSFX (sound) and OpenMSX (music) files, and it says to install them using the in-game content download manager. This is where I get lost. Can someone tell me how to download the sound and music to my game? Thank you!

If you downloaded OpenMSX and OpenSFX as separate files, you can unpack them to the game install directory, no need to use the in-game content downloader. They should be unpacked in the "baseset" folder in the install location.

After unpacking the files you also need to be sure to go into the game options and enable the sound and music sets.

Thank you so much! I did it and everything worked perfectly.
