cant start my open ttd

once I download NewGRFs ,it show Garbled characters and crash.
for then on, i cant start my open ttd. althought i delete and redownload. it still cant work. how can i do or what can i do?

Try opening your Documents folder in File Explorer (or Finder, if you're using a Mac), find the OpenTTD folder inside it, then see if there is a "content_download" folder in that OpenTTD folder. You can delete the "content_download" folder there to get rid of everything you downloaded with the in-game content downloader.

If you can remember which file(s) you downloaded that caused this to happen, it would also be a great help. That might let someone figure out why the game starts misbehaving/crashing and fix the bug for the next version.

Or even better - delete the files in the "content_download" NewGRF folder one by one from newest to oldest, trying to start the game after each deletion, until it works again.

Then you should have isolated the add-on which causes the crash.
