The Dutch Signal Set
A while ago I made a newgrf with only the bare essentials to make ERTMS signalling in OpenTTD a possibility. Today I present to you a complete signal set for the Netherlands. The set includes main signals, including P-signals, dwarf signals, presignals, speed signs, TSR signs, ATB-NG and ATB-Vv beacons, eurobalises and Stop Marker Boards.

You'll need JGR's patch pack to make it work, and for the best experience, enable realistic braking.

Known issues:
- Beacons as signals have to be installed backwards for path signals to look right. Can't be fixed.
- Beacons look like they're quite far behind block signals. Can't be fixed.
- Beacons may not look properly aligned on some tiles with vertical or horizontal tracks. Can't be fixed.

Great work!
I found a bug with the eurobalise after playtesting: once a train enters a long, eurobalise-only section, other trains can't enter the section until the first train clears it. The behaviour is quite strange in terms of both gameplay and realism. Hopefully this could be fixed.
Besides, I have a suggestion: in order to use this set for games that have a long timespan, it would be nice to have older multiaspect signals and possibly ETCS-1 signals (eurobalises or the like that can only reserve up to 8 blocks) for realistic gameplay, if these things existed in th Netherlands.

The balises act like reserve through signals. They're pretty much only there as eyecandy. Under ERTMS signals have been replaced by Stop Marker Boards (SMBs)

The behaviour you reported is as intended.

I've never heard of the ETCS behaviour you're describing, and won't implement this. If you want to larp L1 you can use normal light signals with eurobalises.

I have thought of adding older signals, but this does not currently have priority for me.

Thanks for the explanation. I mentioned the balises because I'm trying to build realistic HSR and stop marker boards on ~50km interstations seem quite weird. :D
