THAT'S ALL FOLKS. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WAS PART OF THIS BEAUTY GAME. MAYBE THE COMPETITION WILL RETURN LATER, MAYBE NOT. BUT NOW IT HAS NO SENSE. NO SCREENSHOTS, NO SOTM.
Competition Rules
  • All participants must be registered on tt-forums.
  • Screenshots have to describe the current theme.
  • Screenshots have to be submitted to this thread. Please make sure your entry is in an "attachment" and not just a direct link.
  • Screenshots can be any size. However, large zoomed-in screenshots should be downsized and "giant" screenshots are discouraged as they don't work well in the voting post.
  • GIFs must focus on one moving or stationary subject, as a slideshow constitutes multiple screenshots and breaks the following rule.
  • Only one entry per participant. Entries may be withdrawn or replaced at any time before the deadline. Published screenshot may compete only once, must not be repeated.
  • The deadline is last day of the month as it disappears across the international date line.
  • Captions are permitted and encouraged in order to elicit greater voting.
  • Use of graphics programs to enhance screenshots (aka "Photoshopping") is permitted to an extent. Heavy editing (things not normally possible in the game) is only allowed if the competition theme calls for it.
  • The winner is offered the chance to pick the next month's theme. If the winner declines to select a theme, or is not able to submit a theme within three days after being declared the winner, the competition moderator shall select a theme for the next competition.
  • In the event of a tie, the winners will be offered an opportunity to collaborate together on a theme. If they cannot come to a quick decision, the competition moderator shall select a theme for the next competition.
  • If fewer than four entries are submitted in a month, the competition will automatically roll over to the next month. If after two months there are still fewer than three entries, the competition moderator will declare the competition a draw, and select a theme for the next competition.
  • In case there are 4 competitors, you can pick 2 favourite screenshots. Otherwise there will be 3 options. Voting time is 4 days.

The traditional cities model was exhausted, humanity had to look for new ways of living, the Invenley city is a new concept of ecological city where human constructions coexist with nature.

Cities with a concrete predominance have been left behind...

Invenley is a self-sustaining city, it has large wind turbines that provide electricity while removing hot air and helping to cool buildings, there are long canals that collect rainwater irrigating small agricultural plantations that supply food to the city.

Nice theme, will just suit me.

What is the deadline ? If it is the last Wednesday this month, April 26, then you have to count me out. I'll be busy this week, and for me 3 days is not enough.

More like May 3; I'll do my best for getting it done earlier.

North Wrentfield was traditionally a working class neighbourhood, with warehouses and lots of industrial activity. Things started to change a few decades back, as the neighbourhood was engulfed by the Capital City metro area. After the construction of Wren Utd's stadium, commercial activity increased, many warehouses were turned into stores or apartments, land value increased as well and many of the historic residents were priced out.

Voilà, my entry ...
Residential Neighbourhood - Welcome to Angrignon Park, a very liveable place, thanks to excellent services and very good public transport. Just recently a brand-new metro and rail station has been opened and been accepted well. The demand for residential housing lots has been increasing, so the authorities had to release more land across the river and the express-way ...

Not part of the competition, but for the benefit of those without X-Ray vision - the inside of the metro station ...

Thank you very much - looks like I have an older version of this NewGRF and therefore not seen them before. Need to update for my Hamburg scenario but this is definitely "version hell" :?
