Today I was trying to make a map with the greyscale Map Generator tool found on Owens Locomotion Depot, and I came across a Dilemma. There are 41 different possible terrain heights in Locomotion, but 255 different shades of grey. I thought I might take a couple minutes to figure out what shade of grey corresponds to what height, and 3 hours later I got it down to a science. I spent too much time on this and figured I might save someone else a little trouble in the future.

Each Hexadecimal Color corresponds to a different height. The correct way to enter it into your image editor of choice is instead of "4c" type "4c4c4c":
-3: 00
-2: 06
-1: 0c
0: 13
1: 19
2: 1f
3: 26
4: 2c
5: 33
6: 39
7: 3f
8: 46
9: 4c
10: 52
11: 59
12: 5f
13: 66
14: 6c
15: 72
16: 79
17: 7f
18: 86
19: 8c
20: 92
21: 99
22: 9f
23: a5
24: ac
25: b2
26: b8

30: d2
31: d8
32: df
33: e5
34: eb
35: f2
36: f8
37: ff (Note: 37 units is not possible in Locomotion's map editor, but it is with Map Generator.

Thanks for your effort, maybe OpenLoco will have a grayscale map input tool.

I've gathered some more data having to do with snow patterns in the North American Biome.
From April to October, there will be light snow from +15 up, and heavy snow from +17 up.
From December to February, there will be light snow from +9 up, and heavy snow from +11 up.
It takes the entire month of March and November to transition between the 2 "seasons".
Note: Trees slightly below the snow line will have snow on them. I'm not sure how far down but at least 1 or 2 levels.
