Default set extension grf

Hi all,

I've finally released my first grf: "Default set extension". :)
After year 2051, we have a lot of stations with a lot of platforms to handle the trains. Some stations are fully optimized but cannot handle more trains than needed.
For this case, I've created a new grf which contains only maglev vehicles. The wagons can carry more passengers or cargo than the standard wagons in OpenTTD and are released in year 2060, 2110 and 2160.
Since the wagons can load more passengers and cargo, the train weights are higher and 3 new engines are also added into this grf.

Currently, only all wagons for the Temerate landscape are available in this grf. Other landscape wagons like paper and water are not available.

I would like to have some feedback to improve this grf. :)

It's a good idea, but "Default set extension" is a horrible name and gives no indication as to what the set is actually for. "Extended Maglev Train Set", for example, would be a better name and descriptive of the set's purpose.

A universal cargo wagon would probably be useful until you get around to drawing some more distinctive cargo wagons.

I share kamnets reply on both accounts: it's a very good idea to provide further rolling stock and content for years beyond 2060; there is very little in that regard.

What about a name like "Trains of the future", "2060 and beyond" or alike?

That's the link indeed. I wouldn't put the direct download link here, because it can be downloaded from the online content in the game.

@kamnet:
You are right. The name "Default set extension" is a bad name and "Extended Maglev Train Set" is better. May be I should rename it into "Extended Maglev trains"?

I've uploaded a newer version of this grf.

New wagons for the climates sub-artic and sub-tropical are added.
I've tried to change the name of this grf, but that is not possible.

This is the link to the new grf: http://binaries.openttd.org/bananas/new ... n-4.tar.gz
(Admin note: links no longer work, download from within the game)

Just wanted to say that I really like this set, the 2060 unit (in yellow) reminds me of some very trendy sneakers I used to have :D
I'm guessing this isn't compatible with Toyland map?
Yes I like playing Toyland, well, as long as most of it is stripped out, lol

I'm afraid this is another dead, abandoned project. :(

It's neither dead nor abandoned. What more needs to be done? Mister X asked for suggestions, received them and implemented them. Nobody else has made any further requests, the NewGRF does what it says it does.

My mistake, I'm sorry. I don't remember ever downloading or using this newgrf and the link above didn't work, so I made the wrong assumption.

The link doesn't work because the dev's changed how Bananas works. You can still download it from inside the game.

Could you make maglev train wagons that would support axis (firs?) Indrusty items?
And how about some optional op maglev trains that would have 500-800kmh top speed and +100k hp to have 20-30 tile trains with 1 wagon. ( to play in 4k maps)
Also maybe 100/200k wagons?

Ps:thank you, you are the only maglev supoorting creator i found exept some passenger regional set that have them..
