when generating a new map it would be nice if the cities were linked automatically with roads instead of users having to build new roads.

This would also make it easier for the AI to establish road-transport networks between cities.

Nice idea! Cities connected with roads is more realistic too. But I think it should be optional for those who don't like this idea.

Forgive me for my maybe dumb observation, but how were you planning on linking the cities using roads?
Using the same super-smart AI pathfinding that allows the computer to create those uber-efficient, amazingly direct, and perfectly sensible links between it's stations?
Didn't think so.

Me thinks a re-write of the way pathfinding works would have to be done first. Indeed CS may have had this idea for the original TT(D) but having seen the AI decided against it. hehe
