Music does not work in game

All sound effects seem to be working.
The music files can be played individually outside of the game.
Messing with the jukebox does nothing.
My computer runs on windows 8.1.
I'll appreciate any help you guys can give.

Can't think of any reason for that to happen; OpenTTD just passes the music data to whatever softsynth is the default for playback, so if the files play in windows media player they should play in game no problem.
If you're still struggling with this, you could try replacing the softsynth that windows is using. I use this one :

The catch is that you'll need a soundfont as well - there's a few listed on that page. SGM-V2.01 is a good match for the default sounds windows should has - it has the same volume balance, so a file that sounds good on the windows default should sound good on that. Alternatively, if you google for Scc1t2.Sf2, that's a 1:1 match for the default windows synth (the windows default is based on a Roland sound set, which is what that file is).

Do you have a music set loaded?
Do you see anything in the jukebox playing? Make sure the music volume in the jukebox is turned up.
