So, it's been decided that the 2017 meet will be held in Birmingham on the 29th July 2017 (a Saturday). Further information on the meet can be found at the wiki link below. If you think you will be able to make it, please update the wiki page with your name:

If you're not definitely sure you can make it, but think you can, please update it anyway. Just click Edit and add "* ~~~~" in the appropriate category, and the wiki software will autocomplete your name. (You use the same login for the wiki as for the forums.)

More information will be published when we've decided what we'll actually be doing on the day and so on. If you have any thoughts, please post them here! Suggestions for things to do on the day, in particular, would be welcome.

I wonder if it's because your username starts with a digit? I have a feeling the wiki may not like that...

The meet is now getting closer - anybody had any thoughts on activities we could do, aside from the customary pub visit?

I've had to change my status, whilst I still intend to attend, I am in a rather sticky spot with my life at the moment. I will update closer to the time.

So, the meet is just a week and a half away, so I guess we'd better decide where to meet!

I'd suggest we could initially convene at The Briar Rose, a 7 minute walk away from New Street station. My flight gets in at 8.45am so I'll be kicking around for a while (albeit not necessarily at the pub at 9am), so if anyone else gets in early, let me know!

After we meet we can decide what we want to do - something like the Thinktank Science Museum could be interesting - "You can explore everything from aircraft and steam engines to intestines and taste buds". Or for something completely different we could get the train down to Bournville and visit Cadbury World.

There's also the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery that was mentioned above.

Maybe I'll try to do some kind of "10 years of meets" quiz!

I'm sticking around until Sunday afternoon, so we can always continue with dinner and some bevvys if desired.

Okay, so, I've just booked my Hotel at the Moor Street Travelodge, so will definitely be coming!

Will probably look at arriving in at 11am-ish, as I have some work to do on Saturday morning.

I was going to stop over night, but I will be working Sunday afternoon now so I may only be along for the day.
Shall have to see how I feel in honesty. It's a very busy couple of months
