New competition

Theme:
"Tunnels"
... set by the last month's winner Ploes.

As explained by Ploes: "... lets keep it simple and go with "Tunnels" in honor of the winchburgh tunnel works!"

As always, rules can be found HERE.

How to enter:
Easy - simply upload your image to this topic to enter or link it from a trusted site such as flickr, photobucket, DeviantArt, your personal website etc.
Uploading is preferred as it keeps things together. If you're linking from a URL, having a small 'preview' image and a link to a high-res image would be helpful.
If uploading direct to the wiki:
Let's keep entries in a certain named format for organisation reasons as well as keeping record of them in the entries topic and here. If you prefer to upload to the wiki, please keep it in the same naming format as other entries and inform me they are already on the wiki. Name format is - month|year|POTM_user name.
For example: 0615POTM_Dave.jpg / 0615POTM_orudge.jpg / 0615POTM_GeoGhost.jpg / 0615POTM_Ameecher.jpg
You get the idea ;)

At the end of the month, this topic will close and a voting topic will be started with all the entries in for people to choose their top one.
All entries will be uploaded to the tt-forums wiki and stored there for voting and also for archive.
Entries close on the last day of the month, voting will be available for 7 days (approximately).
The winner will need to contact me about what they want the next theme to be and then that will be posted in the entry topic for the next month. Then we repeat from there. Simple.

If you wish to change your entry, you may so long as the entries are still open. Simply upload a new one to the topic and remove your old one.
Otherwise, it may get confusing as to which one you are entering. If there are two entries submitted and you have not informed me which one you wish to be used, I will use the first one posted.

Cheers people!

Tends to be a big drop off of folk in the summer, I'm afraid!

I'll post before the end of the month, but could be a prime candidate for extending into July.

We don't really have that many tunnels here, and none really near where I live, we normally just build over mountains not thru them

We don't build many tunnels here... Nearly no road tunnels in the countryside, mostly just underpass.

Isn't there a subway in Jakarta?

Under construction - can't access the tunnels yet (though they're already bored it seems as TBMs are in from quite long but I bet they're still lining it, it's a pretty quiet work with no real indication of progress from outside). Nor I plan to go with trains where the lines have tunnels... No road tunnel at all.

Passenger gates at airports are also a kind of tunnel...
An underpass can also be considered a tunnel...
This can also be considered as a tunnel...

Think out of the box too.

Wow, I hope the owner of that image doesn't participate. Otherwise we're already done,

Hahaha, true. It's something I've discovered by simply tiping "tree tunnel" into Google... Awesome images there, take a peek.

Hmm... A fair amount of underpass, though most looks boring... I'll try to see what I can get.

The only underpass that qualifies as a tunnel, considering it's depth (~ 7 m below roads above) and length (maybe around 500 m). Also, a bridge cross above the tunnel - only two occurence in here, the other is a short underpass. Had a picture from the inside, but too shaky.
