SBB-CFF-FFS Set (Swiss Trains) v1.0e (7/6/2015)

Post by dandan »

Grüezi and Bonjour,

I am happy to present the SBB-CFF-FFS Set, a train set modelling the Swiss Federal Railways. Version 1.0 is complete for now and fully playable, with locomotives, train sets, coaches and freight wagons reaching from the foundation of the SBB in 1902 to the present. Available here, along with the pdf guide, or as online content.

I have tried to make this set 'easy to play', placing as few restrictions as possible and not requiring too much micro-management. At the same time, there is an expert mode that lets you pick all liveries by hand.

Enjoy!

It appears listed as "SBB Set", and doesn't have anything in its description.

Hmm, for me the set shows up on Bananas just fine, also in 1.4.2. (It also has a short description.) Sometimes, OpenTTD takes a while until it has downloaded the full list. Could that be the problem?

well sorry i wasn t so clear maybe... i meant that i could find the newgrf without problem on bananas and downloaded it.

problem is when i want to add it to a game, it s not in my list of avalaible newgrf.(see screenie, I should find the SBB newgrf between sailingship and seaplane airport, but it s not there)

I'm seeing it in my newgrf list. Grf ID 44508550 version 183.
Is there a clash with another newgrf? Does SBB appear before "Sailing"?

 i found it ! it s just named CFF set, i guess cause i use French as primary language...

It is a bit missleading though to dowload something called SBB set and finally find it under the name CFF....

Must be the French language effect. It's SBB on my English setup. Sneaky!

I would recommend to change the strings for non-English languages to "SBB Set (translated name)" in order to avoid this issue :)

Yes, I just did not anticipate this problem. In the next release, I'll either use SBB Set throughout or SBB-CFF-FFS Set.

I just hope I then won't get any complaints "Where did my CFF Set go?"
