I know it's a bit early, but a quick question, I took a look at the tracking table at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... viGiER3ow/

Is more cargo tram's on your goals for this set or just that cargo Tram "Dresden CarGoTram"?

It's currently under discussion. As of right now the CarGoTram cannot be coded due to some legacy issues with the code. That may or may not be fixed before the first release.

Are there any other cargo trams that you know of and would like to see included?

Well if you're asking if there are any cargo trams I want because of model or country, no, to be fair I don't even think my country has ever had any nor I have seen live one!

But I do like to use cargo trams on my games, so passengers and cargo trams would be a big + IMO! :)

I don't want to fill this topic just so recently created with a bunch of questions, but you have made curious "As of right now the CarGoTram cannot be coded due to some legacy issues with the code.", legacy issues?

the inspiration for HEQS trams was usually some lightweight narrow gauge material, e.g. used for mining. (not inside the mine, but getting the mined goods from the mine entrance to some accessible place)

an example would be the german "Feldbahn" (named like this, because in war-time it could be easily laid out to reach parts of a battlefield), which came in various gauges, but most commonly 400mm or 600mm. this system was used in many factories for internal transport, but also for logging railways or for transporting clay from the pit to the brick works.

an extremer version that served as an example for HEQS, that doesn't strictly pass as a tram, is the 900mm network in the northern saxon coal pits. (example)

aside of HEQS, there were also examples of (usually narrow gauge) railways that run through cities, sometimes with tram-like passenger service, sometimes cargo only, in the late 19th and early 20th century. an example for combined tram/cargo traffic is the railway line Klingenthal–Sachsenberg-Georgenthal. there was also a mail tram in Berlin, using the regular tram rails (standard gauge)

I made a script that doesn't support anything other than passenger trams yet.

For those really curious. Check the Openttdcoop bundles server. On there is something with 7 trams, but without a version number. I'm not recommending to use that, but if you can't resist...

In the US, interurban electric railroads that ran between cities and through streets were the step-up from local horse-drawn and steam-based tram services. They frequently transported cargo between cities and major transportation hubs to fill gaps when heavy-gauge railroads did not service areas. They'd haul just about anything as long as you paid for it.

Because of the fact that the code doesn't support cargo at the moment, and because of the fact my research has actually turned up A LOT of cargo-based tram and lightrail equipment, I'm not in a rush to put it into this release, or even necessarily in this set. But I'm not staunchly opposed to it either if new code comes along before we're ready to launch.

On my oldest child's first day, she cried and begged me to never leave. A week later she wouldn't even say goodbye, she was in too big of a hurry to get to school. She leaves for college next year. She's still probably not telling me goodbye. :-)
