Implement curved tracks?

Post by Aksel »

I have written a small program that transforms any tt track into one with with curved turns, by analysing the adjecent tracks (see sample images). Ideally I would want to write a NewGRF track set that implements this algorithm. However I am completely new to making NewGRF:s and I don't even know if this is possible. What do you think? Any advice?

see discussion here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 8#p1046478

first step is probably creating all the sprites needed, then add the NewGRF support for it to OpenTTD, then see what performance impact it has, and then convincing the devs that it's not as bad as expected/feared :)

Oh, I'm sorry. Must have missed the search function. I'll move this post to there.
