Victoria Line suspended due to flooding... Ish.

God knows how someone has managed to do this.

Victoria Line is currently suspended between Warren Street and Brixton while TfL fixes damage caused by "flooding" at Victoria.

There's flooding in a relay room at Victoria alright...

... It's just that it's fast-setting concrete!

Bloody hell!

Concrete is minorly corrosive whilst it sets too, so those relays and wiring might be slightly ballsed up too.

How on earth did this occur, someone is going to be a whole heap of the brown stuff.
Would be interesting to see just how long the line remains in distress due to this, quick dry cement can dry in as little as five minutes...

Major ooopsing - looks like they will have to get a rapid reaction pneumatic drilling team down there?

There will have to be an inquiry, surely...

Going to be fun getting home tonight I see...

Interesting to find out why and how they did it though.

TfL still not admitting it half an hour ago. They may have now - BBC are reporting it.

ITV has provided a quote from someone at TfL, so it would appear they are indeed admitting it! http://www.itv.com/news/london/update/2 ... equipment/

Wonder how long it will take them to sort it.

They're pretty certain won't be fixed before the end of service. I'll hazard a guess it'll be after that.

FCC will be pretty interesting in the morning haha.

London Reconnections would be a good place to follow this: http://www.londonreconnections.com/2014 ... e-ingress/

Well they've managed to get it all fixed up somehow, Victoria Line is running a 'good service' today. Although I dread to think of the state of the signal room, i doubt it'll ever be the same again.

There must have been some heroics overnight to get it sorted out!

Wasn't too impressed with the RMT barging their way into the BBC News article about this!

Yes, because having staff behind a glass panel instead of on the gateline is better for passengers in times of disruption... :?

I'd love to have heard the frantic call TfL had to make to their contractors to explain what'a'gwan, and ask them to fetch plenty of men with pneumatic drills / electric breakers.
