Cant buy my opponent

Hi!
I havent been playing OpenTTD for a couple of years and now when I return I notice that I´m not able to buy my opponents companys. How come?

It's an option you can set from the game settings menu.

Shares can only be bought when the setting is on and the company you want to buy shares from is at least 6 game years old.

Main Menu, Advanced Settings, change he filter to show "Advanced Settings" or "Expert Settings / All Settings". It's listed under the "Competitors" section as "Allow buying shares from other companies". You can also jump straight to it by entering "share" into the filter string box.

Changing it from the main menu will only affect new games, for save games you have to go to Advanced Settings when your game is loaded.

note that you can only take over AI companies, not companies founded by humans in multiplayer games (those you can only take over if they are bankrupt)
