Helmland
Located mid-way between the Denmark and the north-east coast of England, Helmland is an island of two halves. The south is a region of Denmark whilst the north is a British outpost, both are run as a semi-autonomous provinces. The island has developed over many years to be fiercely independent and a hub for free-thinking Europeans.

I hope to show off some of the excellent public transport systems on the island I'm starting with a local commuter line on the north-east coast of Helmland.
Timetable
The front of the timetable for this branch. The majority of railways in Helmland are run by National Rail (Statsbaner) but there are a few areas where local services are operated by Movium, a private company which also operates a number of bus routes in Helmland.
Beeston
We begin our short journey here, there are two stations on the island; Beeston (Main) in the city centre and Beeston Docks on a single-track branch. We can see that the famous chain ferry is making its way back from Shoal as the larger, slower car ferry from Bracknell is heading in through Shoal Sound. On the other side of Beeston Island you can see the riverboat coming in to Knightshead Pier from Hemsworth, a popular commuter route.
Bracknell
After a single other stop at Hemsworth our train pulls into Bracknell, the main centre of population on the north-east coast, the two stations represent the private and public-owned railways on Helmland. On the left is Bracknell Local which is the terminus for the Movium Local lines along the north coast and then there is Bracknell Central, the larger station with Regio, InterCity and InterCity Express trains heading across to the south and west. Our service from Beeston Docks can be seen in platform 1 at Bracknell Local with an engine-hauled North Coast service in platform 2. The Shoal car ferry is just heading out from the Ferryport.

Rødvig is the largest city in Helmland and is located within the Danish half of the island. A sprawling metropolis centred around the Brede Sø or Wide Lake and faces outwards to the North Sea. As the hub of the island it has a large, international airport and two container docks as well as suburban and intercity rail and ferry services.
Brede Sø
An overview of the Brede Sø can be seen here. Rødvig Træø Lufthavn can be seen on its artificial island. The main intercity rail lines into Rødvig cross the lake on the Nybro which takes them from the northern hub of Vesterport into the main station; Rødvig H. Ferries connect the towns and suburbs surrounding the lake to the airport, central station and to the Cityhavn located west of the city centre. The major services run a clockwise of anti-clockwise circuit around the lake with other shuttles linking in the airport and Hulmbæk.
Rødvig Centrum
Here we have a closer look at the city centre. In the north is Rødvig H, the main station for out-of-town routes such as the Regio and InterCity trains. We can see an InterCity Express leaving for Bracknell Central from platform 4, the journey across the island takes only 1hr on the high-speed lines compared to 2hrs on the conventional InterCity service. South of the central station is Nordby S, the city centre terminus for the S-Tog lines C and D and around the centre we can see 3 ferry stops; Rødvig H, Nordby Havn and Cityhavn.



Thank you for the kind responses. Sadguardian, the boats are from the FISH set, the stations are from mph's British Stations which are fantastic, the S-Tog stations you'll see a few of in this post are the Dutch station set.

Expansion at Rødvig H
Expanding Rødvig's mainline terminus has been on the drawing board for decades, it wasn't until summer 2012 that work finally began on the mammoth project. Land has been reclaimed on the east side of the station giving the space required to add two more platforms bringing the total up to 6. In addition a new booking hall has opened providing clean, light and airy facilities including a new first class lounge and new shops and restaurants.
Poster
Here we see a poster from mid-way through the renovations showing the disruption caused by the expansion.
Under Construction
The land reclamation has been completed here although no work has begun on the platforms or altering the track layout in the throat of the station. The temporary ferry terminal can be seen as well as the access road leading to it.
Opening Day
The finished product, the new platforms now fully opened and in use, a Regio train pulls out from platform 5 heading for Grønnehave whilst the InterCity Express in platform 6 has just arrived and its passengers have disembarked into the new concourse.

Handelbro / Handel's Bridge
A quick update from the border between English and Danish Helmland. The bridge here is a feat of modern engineering, named after former Prime Minister Josef Handel and spanning the River Bod it allows the M2 to bypass the famous arched bridge at Danebridge and instead it gracefully carries the road from Danish Helmland to English Helmland. In this shot there are a number of vehicles in sight; two SAS Shuttle aircraft heading cross-country pass overhead, an InterCity Express train speeds toward Rødvig, a Riverline Hopper boat stops at Danebridge Pier en route to Vesterport Havn and finally the Megabus M4 service is crossing Handelbro heading for Bodmin.

Brilliant stuff, I always enjoy seeing all four (rail, road, air, and sea) modes of transport acting at once.

What a superb series. The disruption poster is really imaginative.

What I love most is not the detail you put into the screenshots but everything surrounding them. You don't only build a transport network, you construct a full region and thinks of more than just public transport. I love the disruption notice and the timetabling and all that. Very nice, brings an extra level of realism to every screen.

S-Train Line B
The S-Train is the suburban rail system in the Rødvig metro area. The lines run out into the suburbs and sleeper cities that surround Rødvig providing vital commuting links and access to mainline rail services. S-Train B S-Tog B runs from Humbæk Havn, up to the busy Vesterport interchange and then out, across the River Bod into English Helmland to terminate at leafy Bedford.
Bedford
As soon as the train pulls out of Bedford station it crosses the River Bod heading south toward Danish Helmland. In this shot we can see an InterCity train skirting the town and one of the RiverLine 'hopper' boats which connects the towns along the river to Bodmin and Vesterport.
Huntingdon Bridge
Not long after crossing the Bod at Bedford we find ourselves once again looking down on the water from the Huntingdon Bridge Viaduct which carries the S-Train into Danish Helmland. No border checks required here as English Helmland is the only part of the UK to be part of the Schengen area. Many Helmlanders will think nothing of crossing the border and both English and Danish are spoken freely in the border towns and major cities.

Ny Ellebjerg / Handby Strand
The line ducks under the M2 at Ny Ellebjerg, the road continues on to Handelbro and up to Bracknell, we continue south and converge with the S-Tog line A just before the station at Handby Strand. S-Tog A runs along the coast to Grænsby and then with Line B from here on in. The container docks dominate Handby to the south but to the north the rugged coastline is popular with daytrippers and those looking for an escape from Rødvig.
Vesterport
Vesterport is the busiest station in the Rødvig area providing interchange between S-Tog lines A, B and E as well as InterCity and Regio services which originate at Rødvig H. Our train comes into the western platforms and the driver changes ends to allow us to reverse out and head for Humbæk.
Humbæk Havn
Sat at the mouth of the Brede Sø and across the water from Rødvig city centre, Humbæk is a popular, attractive town with a wealthy and youthful population. The main station is Humbæk Havn, terminus of the A and B S-Tog lines as well as the Lufthavn Express train that runs out to Rødvig Træø Lufthavn, the station is an important interchange point for ferry and rail passengers and for those coming to and from the airport.

Buses on the West Coast
National Rail Statsbaner (NRSB) as well as running the railways of Helmland also run a significant number of bus services, mainly operating in rural and suburban areas and connecting towns and villages to railheads. One of the most remote areas of the island is the coastline in the north and west. Branch lines reach the major towns but the villages strewn along the rocky shore are linked only by NRSB Buses. There are three services along the length of the coast; 101 Coastlink South, 102 Coastlink North and 103 Saints Bay. Their routes can be seen on the front of the timetable above.
Wrexham
Here we see the bus and rail interchange at Wrexham station. Coastlink lines 101 and 102 can be seen at their terminal stop and the 88 Leyland, which runs inland linking the villages in the hills between here and Winsford, is leaving through the north of the town.
Yelvertoft
The fishing town of Yelvertoft is the eastern terminus of the 103 Saints Bay line from Parkhouse. The line takes in the beautiful villages of St Denys, St Austell and St Meryl (hence the name Saints Bay) before coming to an end here. At the ferry pier the once-daily DFDS ferry to Aberdeen is just about to leave for its over-night voyage across the North Sea.
