DOS TTDPatch (r2366) not enough memory DOSBox

I have tried to get TTDPatch to work under DOSBOx and I get told not enough memory. I have tried fiddling with the DOSBox memsize option (which increases himem but lowmem is alway 1 Mb) to no avail. The only two ways to get it to work are to turn lowmemory on or run it from a DOS prompt from within Windows 3.11 where it doesn't exit cleanly.

I think "lowmemory" is a requirement for the DOS version. At least I also needed it always with 2.5, maybe even already with 2.0r1.

Hmm, Ok, I don't remember it being like that. I find it odd though that it works without it under Windows though.
Just found a tutorial on the DOSBox forums saying to set memsize=63 under [dosbox] in the dosbox conf.
That fixed it for me.
