Hello all

Not sure if this is the right area for this as its for a game but still real transport related.

I've been creating a British map with the idea of recreating the rail networks (as best as I can) including pre-beeching. What i'm having trouble finding is infomation on the services that ran on the Great Central Railways. I pritty much know where the lines were and where the stations were but not from where to where the services ran.

Can anyone help me?

Master Cutler was from London to Sheffield (crack express)
Expresses from Marylebone called at Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester via Woodhead line.

Don't know much else.

http://www.timetableworld.com/ could be of some interest. I found all kinds of interesting timetables up here in Scotland from 1948 or so, at least.

Somewhat related, any good sources for maps back then (pre-beeching) too?

http://www.railscot.co.uk/ is pretty comprehensive (and despite the name does have a reasonable chunk of stuff on the rest of Britain, and not just Scotland).

AFAIK You can also view old maps on the Ordnance Survey website- you certainly could at one time.

I would highly recommend SABRE Maps if you're interested in old maps of the UK. Tracing old railways with, for instance, an overlay map of the present day network can be quite fascinating.
