I had not talked about pak48.Excentrique in this forum yet, since it was usually offered in a bundle with Simutrans Iron Bite, and lately it didn't see any updates. I was busy with Iron Bite development mostly. But now there is a new standalone release of pak48.Excentrique and I want to open a thread for it, since it's an independent creation, basically.

pak48.Excentrique is colorful, funny and weird - it's placed in a timeless, surreal world of colors and lights. Cities are made from crystals, inhabited by sparks, and the only (yet) available industry chain produces music. If you like colorful and screwy things, you might want to take a look.

New in pak48.Excentrique v0.17:
- Alignment of road vehicles should now match city car alignment
- Complete music industry chain, but only placeholder gfx for the Symphonium and VSK Troubador
- Adjusted Fanfostar production
- Added a few English and German translations

I've made a better Symphonium for the pak set. There have been a few pixels lost in the arches while transforming it for Simutrans, but I think it's good enough for a release. At least it's better than the placeholder that was in the set before.

I'd like to make it even more crazy, but I'm not insane enough to do that :P

It's a bit difficult to push the boundaries of a transport simulation game, but I'm trying. If I had ideas which need code changes I think I could do some minor functional changes there, too. I'll see.

I've started to work on a new industry chain, which will manufacture weather. So far I have mostly placeholder graphics, and before I start to design anything, I though it might ask here for ideas as well.

There will be six resource producers (sunshine, clouds, wind, rain, lightning and snow), three intermediate factories (good weather, bad weather, winter weather), and a final consumer which actualyl creates the weather.

How would you imagine a producer for sunshine? Wind? Clouds? .. or any of the other?

I have some ideas, but I'm almsot sure other people will come up with something better, that's usually the way. So if you have some crazy, funny, quirky or other ideas that fit to the weather theme, please let me know. I'm no graphics wizard, but I can do some 3D modelling and also some drawing/painting, so there shouldn't be too many restrictions on the look of things.

The weather industry chain, it doesn't seem to be a good idea any longer, and I have stopped working on it, I must admit. But after a horribly long break the pak set saw an addition, a tourist attraction. It is a level 2 menger sponge, a fractal construct of interesting shape.
