sea/lake quantity on low doesn't work
First, I'd like to thank the developers of TTDpatch. I'm glad I can play it on XP now.
My problem is that the sea/lake quantity difficulty setting doesn't work. I'm using TTDpatch 2.0 rev 1. When TTDLX starts up I go to the difficulty settings and set sea/lake quantity to low and land to very flat. After I generate a scenario I then see a lot of lakes and sea. This is quite annoying because I don't like to build bridges everywhere. Is there a fix for that?

It is because you have the land on very flat. Try putting it on "Flat" or "Hilly" and you will have less water. Another solution is to take the game into the scenario editor and raise the land manually.
And no I won't tell you how to do it, cause thats what the manual is for
Regardless, I hope I helped. I usually run my game on "Flat" and "Medium Sea/Lakes" and it isn't too bad.

Raichase mentioned going into the editor. When you're in the editor mode you can't build ship depots (you only said depots) on water nor can you build anything else. I think Raichase meant manualy raising the land with the land raising tool. That's the "arrow-up" button, you can set a size to the tool: really big or really small. Depending on how much land you would like to raise/lower.Prof. Frink wrote:Yes - Fill the lake with depots, then demolish them and immeditely buy or raise the land. Repeat. No more lakes!

(This is all done from memory, so excuse me if I'm wrong.)
Go into the scenario editor via 'Create Scenario' and then create a random scenario when you're inside it. Get the 'land' tool up and you can raise the land as you found, but because you haven't started the game it won't cost you anything. When you're finished, save the scenario and then play it via 'Play Scenario', and you'll start as normal with the land how you want it.

Again, this is from memory too
I think you don't get towns and industries randomly placed when you start a game like you suggested (but I haven't made a scenario for AGES so I could be wrong)... Even if thats true, it does seem the best way to do things. A bit more work, but it could be the solution "The Red Arrow" is looking for.
