The Royal Train

An interesting article back from 2008 about the Royal Train and its operations in detail (don't expect them to get railway terminology right though, like writing Class 67 while a picture of a 47 goes up next to it)! Unfortunately it's from the Daily Mail, but at least its lengthy and illuminating.

That, and the Royal Locomotive has recently been outshopped in Jubilee Silver, with two Union Flag decals. Looks good.

EDIT: I am aware this isn't either of the two traditional Royal 67s, but it is next to 027 which is the DB company loco. Interesting that as time has gone on the use of the 67 fleet has changed so much.

Well, they were bought to haul mail surely - and EWS lost the contract, so other uses had to be found...

hang on - 67030 is the company loco, Dave! 26 was just to hand, probably... they have to have two locos on the Royal Train - 05/06 were the two of choice but they can appear anywhere.
