no trains or trucks

Hi, I just recently d/l ttd for windows with the patch for xp. After installing the game and running it, I notice I am unable to actually build trains or trucks.

I start new game using random map generator.
I build 2 train stations and a depot. When I click depot to build new train, there are no trains for me to build.
I then tried to build a bus/truck. I built 2 bus stations and a depot. When I go to build new bus, there is nothing for me to build.
I tired airplanes and ships next. Both the airplanes and the ships are there for me to build.

I tried one of the custom maps already made; when I try to create trains, they are there.

I have already tried reinstalling, d/ling from new site and d/l patch again.

Thank you in advance, hopefully someone can help me fix the problem .

don't listen to him, you can also change your ttdpatch.cfg file, look for line startyear, it's parameter is the date of starting the game

besides, he's already built the track. it would be a pain if he had to start again.

The start year is 1930. I have also tried to puch it later with no luck on the trains. Could I be missing a game file?

Well, I'm not sure what happened, but it's working now. I reinstalled it a 3rd time and it's working. Thanks fo your help and fast responses.

i could not get a train to run before 1935, had all kinds of buses and air planes. took note of the db set and installed. now i have 1920's trains.

i am too having this problem. i am on 1932 and have no trains or trucks. now you just said about the db set. can you help me out on what this is?

The DB Set is a set of German trains for TTD.

There aren't supposed to be any non-DB trains or trucks in 1930!
Change the line in your ttdpatch.cfg file that includes 'startyear' to 'startyear 1950' and start a new game!

Reinstal it a MIlion times or get the TTD alter...
