Screen automoving

From wikiFAQ: "The game keeps scrolling on my IBM ThinkPad Laptop "

I have that problem on desktop (keeps moving to top left square side). Yesterday worked great but today screen keeps moving. Loaded game, new game, new install and no change. Keyboard and mouse with no other interference equipment attached.

Anyone have any solutions that I might try? Thank you.

PS. I tried the search function and got a lot of craphics related stuff. Also first 10 pages had nothing related.

You could at least tell us the OS you are using :)

Edit:
Fullscreen vs windowed?
None of these issues in other games?
Have you tried another mouse?
Which OpenTTD version?

That's a good point. (D'oh)
Win7, OpenTTD 1.1.4
fullscreen or windowed makes no difference
unplugging mouse and keyboard doesn't stop movement
And no issues in other games.

Do you by chance have the "Pan window when mouse is at the edge" option turned on in the Advanced Settings?

Advanced Settings -> Interface -> Interaction -> Pan window when mouse is at the edge: off

Red block to the left of the setting = off
Green block to the left of the setting = on

I can move screen around but I have to work against automovement. It is like it has a default setting as movement not stay in one place. And I noticed that increasing game speed increases the automovement speed.

Does your laptop have both a touch pad and a mini-joystick for mouse movement? I don't see why the mini-joystick would cause these problems, but perhaps you can see in your mouse settings of Windows if you can disable first the mini-joystick and later the touch-pad to see if this helps.

On a related matter, I have some Logitech trackballs that sometimes move the mouse cursor towards the top left corner without me touching the ball. This is usually a result of dust and cleaning them fixes the problem.

What happens if you unplug your mouse while it is scrolling? Does the scrolling stop?

Possibly it"s an SDL issue, maybe an older OpenTTD version (based upon an older SDL version) doesn't have this problem. But this is just a wild guess. Could you try an older OpenTTD build, 1.0.0 e.g.

I found V. 1.0.0. from my drive and installed that. Funny enough scrolling is still happening. Something has broken fairly severely somewhere.

On uninstall I did remove program and deleted OpenTTD folder from My Files. Is there some other place something may have stuck? Registry or something?

sounds to me like some other program is messing with your mouse...

... or keyboard.

Try a run in safe mode.

Official Windows builds are GDI-based.

I set the game run in administratory mode (altought this user acc. is administrator) and so far the game runs now normally.
