TTD on Facebook?

I love OTTD. I have been playing it since i was a kid, it was only TTD at that time.
When i first found OTTD i was very very happy, and my old lost passion became once again true.
Now i still love the game but it's very hard to find the time to play it.

So i was wondering, would it be possible to start a project for TTD on facebook?

Would it be possible?
Do you think people will like it? (I would love it and probably the rest of the forum)
How would you have it?
Every user for himself, or maybe a company with multiple users working for it?

Like this?

Quite frankly I have no clue about facebook whatsoever, so I don't know if that is something you're looking for. But some OpenTTD things seem to exist on facebook.

I think he means to have OTTD as a facebook game, those are just groups, the answer is no. :D

OTTD is not coded to be a web based game, I can't see how someone could (easily) convert it to a facebook game.

Oh, as game? No, that requires a complete rewrite. Anybody is free to attempt that, but don't expect that others will do it for you :P

Maybe if you use Google Native Client Plugin, you can easily port OpenTTD C++ code to a module in the browser.
See my suggestion (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=56536) for more details.

surely though if you dont have enough time to play OTTD how will you have enough time to play it on facebook
my suggestion would be to use facebook less and just play OTTD normally

Have you heard of Unity?
I dont know a huge amount about it but as far as i have read it builds on flash technology as an output (for the web) .
I think you can code in a number of languages (I thought i saw c++ there) and then use the IDE to output to one of a number of platforms (web, mobile, console etc).

Just a thought :)

As far as I've seen, Unity and non-comersial OpenSource projects does not go hand in hand.
