Railroad junction problem

Post by hiroshima5 »

Could someone help me with this configuration? I'm really stuck.

The idea is that three trains use one rail in both ways with a stop in the middle to wait while the rail get free.

The problem is what you can see at the attached image.

Why not double track the line? That would be much easier than trying to work out which signals to use where...

you should replace all these signals with path signals that can be passed from the reverse side (5th signal in the GUI, 2nd from the right). and possibly remove the ones on the single track section

There's a problem with that: If there are three trains waiting to go into the station, but two are already in the station, you have a jam-up. I would recommend making each track of the passing loops unidirectional - just have a single one-way path signal on each passing track.
