Just been having a play around on google maps and I came across a weird track layout just outside Shoeburyness near Southend-on-sea. If you follow the track (On Satellite view) thats just under Shoeburyness Station east along the coast a little way you come across a load of tracks branching off, dead ends buildings.
Is this a train testing yard or something? Anyone know

Like Badger says, Pig's Bay MOD. Basically where trains go to do. The LTS 310s and GE 312s spent their last days there awaiting scrapping as, I believe, did a lot of the ex-Southern Railways electrics that were withdrawn with the advent of the Electrostars.
Actually, the new 378s were stored there before entering full service on the NLL and ELL whilst testing was undertaken on a handful of units, there and Chart Leacon, Ashford.
